ACLU Florida: Report on Vote-by-Mail Ballots in the 2018 General Election
Dr. Daniel A. Smith & Anna Baringer

Principal Findings
• In the 2018 general election, as in past elections, Florida voters were much more likely to have their vote tabulated and validated if they cast their ballot in person at an Early Voting site or at their assigned Election Day precinct than if they cast a mail ballot (commonly referred to as “Vote by Mail” (VBM) ballot or absentee ballot);
• Younger, first-time, and racial and ethnic minority voters, as well as overseas and military voters, who cast VBM ballots are all at least twice as likely as older and white voters to have their VBM ballot rejected in the 2018 general election;
• Despite changes in the ability of voters to ’cure’ their rejected VBM ballots, the likelihood of younger and minority voters casting a mail ballot that was rejected increased in 2018 compared to 2016, while the rejection rate of VBM ballots cast by white voters decreased from 2016;

https://www.aclufl.org/en/aclu-florida-report-vote-mail-ballots-2018-general-election

Vote By Mail would be a disaster for a Presidential election.
The above is just one example of the multitude of state laws regarding the issue.
27  states permit vote harvesting.   13 states don’t mention anything about the practice. The list goes on.

Flop sweat...

Oh look,  Red is pretending to care about minorities again!

The ACLU is making a case for improving VBM,  not getting rid of it.
Improving vote by mail?
Who wouldn’t be in favor of it?  It’s a labyrinth of multiple state interpretations.
The ACLU of Florida has recommendations to improve Florida’s version

The problem, though, is VBM is being touted to get us through, if necessary, the covid-19 Pandemic. But you can’t meld 50 versions of VBM into one National alternative in the next couple of months. ( if at all)
For instance, some states allow mail votes to be corrected(if challenged) and counted up to ten days after the election. If the race is close the credibility of the decision will never be accepted.

The disadvantage wrt to embed is that you just have a gif file of a certain size,  and no control over the frame.  But it works in a bb format.

Trump having mailed in his last vote using a vote harvester to do so completely defanged the arguments of the democraphobes here on this board and elsewhere.

If Kiid is a Brit, he’s a very special Brit of a rare and unusual variety. He’s got a special page in The Lonely Planet guide. Let me see...

Currently there is no unified National system for voting.  Every state has their own rules. Every state tabulates the votes via different methods. Every state announces the results separately.

Vote by mail would be no different.

I’m very sure you accepted the credibility of the decision in 2000, under much more problematic conditions than the one you describe.

And will again in 2020 if it’s your guy who wins.

http://www.salon.com/2020/05/23/welcome-to-a-failed-state-in-slow-motion-the-united-states-of-america/

Patient Zero got himself on his doublewide golf cart today to squeeze a little more cash out of the secret service.

A trumpy big Number of Americans died today and also millions more are trying to figure out what to do now that they’ve lost their jobs.

Trump is hopeless, paralyzed, infectious, ugly, and spitting.

Sane America prepares for a summer of hunkering down and organizing against him.

The 25th Amendment can still save republicans a lot of pain.

Red is consistently anti-federalist and isn’t one to sit up on his flippers and bark in defense of State’s Rights, which you could believe if you’d never read any of his posts.

Who ever heard of a sealion being a weather vane? I think it’s a new modern marvel.

There are two schools of thought on this

1) Years of Diet Coke, Adderall and other amphetamines, along with very little nutrition have rendered donald down to 5’11” tall. He is compensating with shoe lift inserts so high they do that to his posture.

2) the posture is typical and indicative of Frontal Lobe Dementia progressing in trump.

In a complicated world, a confluence of both factors could be simultaneously in play.
