Time to correctly interpret the 2nd Amendment and restrict the vast majority of firearms to well regulated militias certified by the states. Disarm criminals, paranoids, wife beaters, enthusiasts, Karens and the like for the safety and security of all.

You're right!   We DO need progressive policy makers to push funding for better schools and after-school programs,  helping single parents,  better housing,  ending food deserts,  and generally ending cyclical poverty,  and reducing gun access,  because all those measures decrease lethal gang violence and the terrible mortality rates it brings!   Thanks for noticing!
