...Hell if it costs you $5.00 to deliver a single piece of mail in Bum Fuck Nowhere , Idaho, not counting gas money, you might rethink the menu choices or maybe the pricing strategy.

Maybe 1st class postage for a letter in NYC and other large cites is $0,55 and is delivered all week, and is profitable. Maybe in exurban western areas (sorry Bart-nothing personal its just business) ts $5.55 and delivery is once a week. or once every two weeks, or once a month. Sure there might be a little incovenience...

Heh.    Though I must protest the way people keep locating Bum Fuck in Idaho.   Bum Fuck is about 30 miles east of Casper,  Wyoming.   It's right next to Peterborough.

About those postal sorting machine removals:
https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/16/politics/usps-documents-sorting-machine-removal-order/index.html

Sounds like most of them had been scheduled to be removed by the end of last month.

But not all.
LOL!
Never pass up an opportunity to foster a conspiracy theory.

I think it's open to question as to how much effect that measure has.
It comes as a shock to you that a business with a huge decrease in demands for its services decides to cut costs by eliminating high cost machines?
Your biggest problem is you don’t understand our 50 state election process. It is the job of election officials to educate themselves on common sense. Asking the USPS to process absentee ballot requests on the Friday before a Tuesday election  and expecting the voter to get their ballot back to be counted within five days(one of which is Sunday) is begging for trouble.
The post office doesn’t need tons of extra help nor more machines it needs more TIME to process the ballots

Red is giving kid a hard run for Elba's village idiot.

And kid is a 12-time defending champ.

The bolded statement might be the singularly dumbest and misinformed thought on business strategy ever posted in Elba, and there has been tons of it. .

Now companies may delay capex to reduce expenses and conserve capital, but they do not shit-can highly automated machines presumably paid for and most likely fully depreciated (that means no depreciation charge against income Red) that perform functions at a fraction of the cost and multiples of the speed that human labor will presumably perform the same task.

Red machines generally are more efficient than people at most repetitive tasks, like sorting billions of pieces of mail in a timely manner.

Congrasts Red you are truly a fucking idiot.

I look forward to future Red talks on the 50 state election laws with which he no doubt is an expert on.

Just more 3-card Donnie from Red.

This underscores the conflict of interest of Dejoy in that position.   Unethical and corrupt.  Unfortunate that appointment of the PMG doesn't get congressional review,  but is done by the board of governors.   They are appointed,  and AFAICT all by the current "president. "   The USPS site says no more than five of the nine governors can be of the same political party.   And are appointed with advise and consent of... the Senate.
The other two members of the board are the PMG and the deputy PMG.  Hmm.

No, no federal funding at all.  It just borrows billions from the federal government that it doesn't need to pay back every year.
Uh, no. It spends more than it earns and has for a long time.

Uh huh..now where does it get the money to cover those losses?
It doesn’t .
As long as it can stay under its Debt Ceiling it can stay in business.
So the cost-cutting will continue as well raising rates where feasible .
It gets no money from the Federal Government and never has.

If Congress includes the USPS in the latest COVID relief legislation it will be a loan( first ever)
Predictably the media will spin it as an election Priority.
Which will be hogwash .

Unable to answer questions.

Lies through his teeth.

I think Kid's right - Jared is the next leader of the GOP. He fits the bill perfectly.

http://m.dailykos.com/stories/2020/8/17/1969979/-School-reopens-COVID-19-cases-emerge-Rinse-and-repeat-700-times

Trump is geared up to kill 500,000 of us if he just manages to finish out this term. He’s got his foot to the floor for American carnage.

Not only in America.
New cases of the virus 2 days ago were 300,000 globally...the highest daily new cases number ever.
If Americans all wore masks and social distanced six feet at all times....Covid 19 would simply just disappear in a few weeks.
All gone.

I see you did a hasty google search on the structure of the USPS.
Spend some more time and review the credentials of DeJoy and tell us why his appointment is “ unethical and corrupt.”

How about he and his wife have financial interests in companies that are in competition with USPS and they consume the flesh of aborted babies?

Red, who has already amply demonstrated is wholly ill-equipped to adequately assess rational business solutions, such as his approving shuttering high-speed mail sorting equipment in the goal of improving efficiency and meeting customer demand, seems to approve of a DeJoy, a trucking executive, as PMG with little experience running anything near as complicated or expansive or as large as the USPS.

Further Red seems ok with DeJoy, an inexperienced donor, appointed just 2 months ago, with implementing a huge restructuring of a massive Federal department without as far as we know, any supporting studies detailing the restructurings, and how it would impact the USPS, the 320 million it is tasked to serve, and our national security.

I find that blind faith in an inexperienced executive restructuring the USPS, which threatens timely deliveries, in the midst of a national health crisis, where people are more dependent upon timely delivery of mail and products that they need to live, counter to rational decison making.

But Red says its ok.

fucking partisan idiot.

This USPS mishegas is backfiring on Trump and those who aren’t enthralled by the personality cult understand HE knows he’s losing.

My kid, Bear, was interviewed today on MSNBC.

He’s working on a GOTV campaign in Milwaukee.

But I can’t crow on Facebook because I got thrown into FB jail for three days. Told this winger to “sit down you foolish twit.”

Trump pushed forward a megadonor to his campaign.   Already addressed DeJ's actions and conflicts of interest, as did Larry,  Needs,  Banks,  et al.  The post was in regard to the situation described in the Guardian report.   Was there a paywall blocking you?
