This bicyclist is so threatening! Good thing the police officer got backup before giving the teen a ticket.

I've noticed that the police always seem to call for backup no matter how minor or unarmed their victim the suspect is.

I've been stopped by police all over New England. Highways, small affluent towns, small poor towns. Anything from "looking like the suspect" to failure to stop at a crosswalk.

Never had backup called while I was stopped. Not once.

Of course the fires are all Trump's fault...lol
...like every other ill facing America today...more lol

Less bullshit & more back to work will get an 6-8 million vote margin this cycle.

Trump might still have quite a few fooled, but he never had a majority and his track record so far has worn out his act in more places and in more ways than can easily be counted.

Superswamp, republican epidemic style.

The "Law and Order" president strikes again.

I can hear Kid revving up his "This is bullshit" claim that he uses every time Trump breaks another law.

Good lord you're a jerk.

Nobody has said the fires are Trump's fault.

NO FUCKING BODY.

What we have said is that it is his fault that he has refused to acknowledge the science behind the fires, on one hand, while being incredibly slow to provide federal assistance to deal with the fires and their consequences, on the other hand.

And on the third hand, he offered US help to RUSSIA for their fires! I don't mind helping Russia. I mind helping Russia, while refusing to help US citizens.

And... Trump also ignores that the majority of California forests are managed by the federal government.

Trump did not cause the novel coronavirus. He caused the federal government to respond inadequately to it and he caused tons of people to believe they did not need masks, leading to tens of thousands of unnecessary deaths.

Similarly, he did not cause the fires, but billions of dollars of property damage might have been avoided had he acted more swiftly.

Are you seriously debating those points, Bambi?

Those sitting at the table...shown on my tv...sure seemed to be blaming him and his climate change policies for the fires.
I'll bet those fires have burned most years since granny ran for Possum Queen, and Jethro, Ellie May, and Jed were helping her to.

1) His climate policies don't help. But since you don't believe in climate change, oh wait, you changed your mind, now you foolishly just don't believe humans had any effect on it despite the pollution pictures from China, for example, but since you don't believe in man-influenced climate change, you also believe we are helpless.

Jeez, but you are a fool.

2) You lose your bet. There has never been a year like this, dolt. Think otherwise? Go find evidence that prior years have been like this.

Let me help:
This is a list of the largest fires on record in California, going back to 1932. Please note the largest fires. #1, 3, 4, 8, and 13 are from August or September of 2020.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_California_wildfires

As it happens, 17 of the largest Cali fires ever have been from 2003 to 2020. Five of them are from 2020, as noted above. No other year has as many as TWO, Bambi.

"Only" two of the deadliest wildfires are from 2020. Two are from 2018 and three from 2017. "Only" twelve of the 22 deadliest wildfires are from 2003 to present, so far. The 2018 fire was deadlier than the numbers 2, 3, and 4 fires combined.

2018 saw the greatest amount of burnt acreage, over 1.9 million acres burnt by over 8,500 wildfires.

2020 is not in that chart, but... from the top chart of greatest fires, the 5 listed for 2020 are already ahead of that: 2,108,561! That's just 5 of the 7,700+ fires they have had thus far this year. Total through yesterday?

As of September 14, 2020, a total of 7,718 fires have burned 3,451,428 acres. It's pretty likely that 2020 will see double the amount of burnt acreage of the next highest total.

So, eat shit, Bambi. Or...

It's not that this is that big a deal in and of itself. It's penny ante crap.

But it's the same crap again and again and again from these entitled jackasses who do not understand that the government doesn't work for their bosses! They work for the people of the United States and asking them to help with your Christmas cards because your husband is their boss is gross.

Gross, gross, gross.

Ew.

The below talk is from an Assistant Secretary at HHS. A GOVERNMENT "leader." Damned straight his mental health is suffering. This is unconscionable provocation. That Caputo edited CDC reports to bring them "in line" with what Trump was saying makes the "shrinking" numbers make a lot more sense. That he removed his recording from his account after 850 people viewed is is way too little way too late. If he does not resign or get fired shortly, it will be yet another black mark on this administration.

Quote
Caputo urged his listeners “If you carry guns, buy ammunition, ladies and gentlemen, because it’s going to be hard to get.” He said that Trump is on track to win in November, but that Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden will stoke violence rather than conceding. “And when Donald Trump refuses to stand down at the inauguration, the shooting will begin,” he said. Caputo claimed that the Trump supporter killed in Portland, Oregon was “a drill” for what was to come. “The drills that you’ve seen are nothing…. [T]here are hit squads being trained all over this country” to stop a second Trump term, and they were, he said, “going to have to kill me, and unfortunately, I think that’s where this is going.

Caputo noted that the pressure of his job had harmed his physical health, and his “mental health has definitely failed.” After his video had been viewed more than 850 times, Caputo shut down his account.

Caputo is unhinged.  Needs to be excised.
Amazing that they brought this talk radio guy who used to shill for Putin in to run an important agency during an epidemic crisis.

John Fogerty says that Donald Trump’s use of his song Fortunate Son at campaign rallies is “confounding, to say the least,” given that the lyrics to the song were inspired by rich people who were able to avoid the draft during the Vietnam war.

When the song was played at Trump’s rally in Michigan on Thursday, a number of journalists tweeted that it didn’t appear that the campaign grasped the meaning of the lyrics.

CA officials they were.
He travelled there.
He shouldn't have to spent his day arguing with the "climate change" alarmists.
He's probably read all the hatred of him coming out of blue state CA.
Protests on his arrival.
A wonder he even held a meeting with CA officials.
A wonder he didn't get back in his plane and go back to Washington and leave them to it.
Drought...the place was a tinder box waiting to explode.
Got plenty of eucalypts there.
He should've asked them what they'd been doing...why they weren't prepared.
