I really should mention how normal life is here and has been for months.
On my way home from hoops tonight I cut through the one local stadium grounds, and there were dozens, maybe up to 100 people on a Friday night jogging or walking along the running track. On the field in the center there were three games of football in progress. I drifted over past the basketball courts and there were games going at all 4 baskets. Totally normal, and maybe a bit fewer than normal for a Friday night, though I couldn't tell if that was a virus thing or because the weather just got a little chilly this week (mid-50's at night) for the first time.
Restaurants are full, people out on the streets, large groups of people dancing in the parks (April-June they were allowed but had to be spaced out). The only thing not allowed is large crowds. Such as at sporting events and theaters are 50% capacity (unless that's been upped). And a fair % either wear masks or have them on their chin or as arm bands (so available). I'd estimate 15% wearing them and another 10 have them -- though some have them because buses and subway require them.
Hugely normal life here.
Also, China's economy grew by 5% in the 3Q.
We'll see if Biden can halt the American slide.
Since both Obama and Trump got only 2 years with a Congress from their party, Biden better plan on getting as much as possible done in 2 years, and start almost immediately strategizing keeping the House and Senate in 2022.
