Both parties do it, pal.

Dems had boatloads of cash available - spent it on shit candidates - and one big one that seems to have squeaked by.

Dems flipped five states, held a majority in the House and are still in the running for control of 5he Senate.

If I were to consider myself on a ‘Team’ I like our position a lot better than yours.

Can't help wondering if Bloomberg would have been better off putting most of his $1.2B in funding and building out a grassroots infrastructure in states like WI and GA and NC and FLA, rather than big last week ad blitzes.  In other words, use his wealth more like Koch did for the Right.

Support more long term party building, which would have also helped this election.
Also, the money would have flowed more to regular people and local communities than just big corps.

An article about the 30-year old ex-UCOnn QB who is rampaging through the Trump Admin firing people and giving out random loyalty tests:
https://www.adn.com/nation-world/2020/11/13/in-trumps-final-days-a-30-year-old-aide-purges-officials-seen-as-insufficiently-loyal/

This is impulsively bizarre:

Quote
The president has long relied on McEntee, who worked for Trump at his organization in New York and on his presidential campaign. After the 2016 election, according to a tell-all book by Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, a former aide to the first lady, McEntee happened to be delivering a turkey sandwich when Winston Wolkoff informed Trump that his inaugural committee was a “s--- show.”

“Donald grabbed the [sandwich] bag and told the kid to sit down. ‘You’re in charge of the inauguration now,’ he said.”

McEntee soon became the president’s trusted personal aide, accompanying him on the golf course, watching TV off the Oval Office
and carrying his large box of papers on Air Force One. Officials described him as jovial and omnipresent, but not particularly influential.

&

Quote
McEntee’s office soon launched an interview process to suss out disloyalty, asking: “Who on your team is good? Who on your team is bad? Who is not working to serve the president’s agenda? Who brought you into the administration? What do you think of a particular policy?” said one administration official, speaking on the condition of anonymity to describe the internal questioning.

People familiar with the interviews said Trump appointees wanted names of people perceived as disloyal. One Environmental Protection Agency employee was asked his opinion on pulling troops out of Afghanistan. “I work at the EPA,” the official said, startled.

in 2018, McEntee was fired from the WH by John Kelly due to an online gambling habit.
Good long article from the Anchorage newspaper.

Just checking in with the Virus on worldometer and if you search for the states with the most cases per population, 15 of the Top 16 all have GOP governors and voted for Trump.
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/

The only state in the Top 16 of infection rates that voted for Biden is WIS which was a narrow Biden win and has a GOP controlled state gov't fighting hard against the Dem Guv's precautions/restrictions.

Pretty damning.

Similarly only two Red States are in the 16 lowest infection rates -- WVA and OHIO.
WV is rural and nobody goes there from outside.
But I'd be interested to find out why Ohio has done (relatively) well.

But simply if you live in a Red state your chance of being infected is significantly greater, often by a factor of 2 or 3 times than living in a Blue state.  And since Red states tend to be larger and more rural, it's basically an even worse failure.  All attributable to lax gov't policies and folks unwilling to wear masks or stay out of bars/crowds/Trump rallies.

It's fraud, Kid, from beginning to end. Folks (rightly) suggested to me that the money was headed into Trump's pockets one way or another, not to pay down debt because Donald Trump does not pay what he owes, unless forced to do it, almost ever..

How do we know this?

Because he has shown it again and again throughout his professional life of fraud and corruption.
Or as Larry more succinctly put it about you, "Mark."

You are just another victim, pretending otherwise.

Quote
“Not only has the Trump Foundation shut down for its misconduct, but the president has been forced to pay $2 million for misusing charitable funds for his own political gain. Charities are not a means to an end, which is why these damages speak to the president’s abuse of power and represent a victory for not-for-profits that follow the law. Funds have finally gone where they deserve — to eight credible charities. My office will continue to fight for accountability because no one is above the law — not a businessman, not a candidate for office, and not even the president of the United States.”

a USA TODAY NETWORK analysis found he has been involved in more than 3,500 lawsuits over the past three decades — and a large number of those involve ordinary Americans, like the Friels, who say Trump or his companies have refused to pay them.

Got any examples of Democratic Party candidates who have run a fraudulent charity that got shut down by the government and forbidden to ever run a charity again?! Along with the candidate's children?!

Got any examples of a Democratic Party candidate who has been sued by thousands of people, let alone with a huge number of them who say they have been stiffed by that candidate?

Or who have had their business convicted of fraud?

No, Kid, nobody has EVER done it like Donald Trump.

Be proud - you got suckered by a pro.

Only damning if you "believe" science and statistics.

I posted a chart with that data not long ago. Ward dismissed it without so much  as an explanation, as is his wont. Kid had nothing to say, but keeps pushing his, "But you don't talk about how bad it could have been!" whine.

Can you repost that chart of college degrees by state, if you have it handy.
I was looking for that and haven't found it.
Useful info I wanted to share with some Chinese friends.

This was from 2012's election:

In the intervening years, Nevada moved to 8th on the list of lowest states. A little shuffling on each, but the blueness on the top and redness on the bottom have not changed, though Utah is now 11th on the top.

Regarding where Bloomberg et al could've better directed $ -- was looking at this Houston suburban race between a GOP sheriff,  and Indo-American who was reaching out to diverse Asian communities.   Asians,  statistically, have voted less,  and he tried to reach out and motivate them.   Some groups under that broad umbrella term vote on whoever supports small businesses, and respond to GOP candidates on reducing government,  some, like Vietnamese, are intensely anti communist and respond to  red-baiting "Socialism! " cries.   Etc.   So the Indian is pitted against a guy who,  a couple years back, tried to prosecute a driver for having an anti Trump bumper sticker,  which would seem like all any sane person would need to know.   OK, that Indian guy could have used the money to better penetrate the electorate with information on how he would support small businesses,  help them through covid times,  and on how his opponent is essentially a fascist who would deny people 1st Amendment rights.

Just one example.   When people undervote,  as happened in some places with Biden, that can hurt House candidates who may be more aligned with Biden.
