In Germany today, churches are taxed.
Also taxed are members of churches.
If you are baptised in Germany you are automatically registered as a church member, and have to pay a church tax.
If you want to get married in a church in Germany one of the couple must be a registered church member.
You also have to pay tax on inheritances.

China was more organized, more serious about stopping transmission, had much better compliance, a national strategy, widespread early testing, thorough contact tracing, and virtually eliminated the virus from the country after 3 or 4 months. I've been playing basketball since March 23.
