Twitter on Wednesday removed three tweets from President Trump in which he repeated claims of voter fraud while his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol. The tweets have been hidden from view until the president deletes them and his account will be locked until 12 hours after the offending tweets are deleted.

I'm thinking he will move to another platform where he can keep being the adored center of his moronic circle jerk.

It turns out that the protesters did not barge past the barricades.

The police let them in:

Unusual for you to misconstrue my posts here,  Josh.   Wow.   I was pointing out that,  in spite of the madness of a small demented cult,  we have a unified government and the prospects it might offer in the next couple years or more.   If you missed my earlier posts today,  I did condemn quite forcefully the mob and its sociopath instigator.   Saying the day offered hope was not an ignoring of the foul shadow that fell over the Capitol,  but an assertion that it didn't triumph.   In fact,  it further exposed its rotting core for all to see.

She joins Heather as two victims of American fascism one in opposition the other in embrace. It’s not even important to say which is worse.

There is a war on. Whiskey rebellion style. It needs to be put down mercilessly, starting with stripping the ringleader from power and throwing him on the mercy of the law. Mr. Vice President, as an addendum to this proceeding, call forth the cabinet to appear before congress, the confirmed cabinet or what’s left of them.

Lotta foxhole conversions from the cowardly Repubs.

Bailing on Trump

Who knew if we lied to stupid deplorable motherfuckers about conspiracies they would believe us?

It wasn't our fault!

Who knew if we enabled a psychopath authoritarian and never made him accountable for anything, 4 years later about 400,000 Americans would be dead and our democracy hanging by a slender thread and our capital would be under attack by Republican conspiracy whackos?

It wasn't our fault!

A  YouGov Direct poll of 1,397 registered voters who had heard about the event finds that most (62%) voters perceive these actions as a threat to democracy. Democrats (93%) overwhelmingly see it this way, while most (55%) Independents also agree. Among Republicans, however, only a quarter (27%) think this should be considered a threat to democracy, with two-thirds (68%) saying otherwise.

So 2 out of 3 in the GOP don't understand what democracy means.

Fuck them.

Ossoff's lead is now up over 35,000.

While Mr. Perdue may yet ask for a recount (since he swore he knew he won), at this point it is just actively wasting the people's money.

Rev. Warnock's victory is up over 70,000.

Imagine how this might have played out if DC were a GOP bastion and if it had permissive gun laws allowing open carry.

That could have easily been a heavily armed mob attacking the Capitol, taking lawmakers hostage, maybe forcing an Electoral Count in favor of Trump, or killing lawmakers.  Not to downplay things at all, but that could have been much uglier than it was.

Where was the security?  They had a few portable metal railings and a handful of Capitol Police blocking thousands of protesters.  They knew there was an important gov't meeting going on and significant numbers of protesters coming.
We already saw the (Trump incited) dress rehearsal in Michigan 6 months ago.

They should track down and prosecute all involved.  Most would have been captured on security cams and news footage. Shameful shit incited by Trump.
