I did google positive books Trump administration and found one title that sounded pretty upbeat....

https://www.walmart.com/ip/A-Very-Stable-Genius-Donald-J-Trump-s-Testing-of-America-Hardcover-9781984877499/576073543

wink wink

The question was framed as "from the Trump administration" - which really narrows it down.  A bit early for that.  They're pretty busy.

What?  Story on Liz Cheney out of New Hampshire?

Could it be?

Liz v Trump on the debate stage, with Christie tossed in...

Could happen.  Everyone else seems to be running away if DT runs.  DeSantis decision on this could be interesting.

Don Winslow (@donwinslow) Tweeted:
Dear Merrick Garland,

In just 5 months the 5 year statute of limitations for the obstruction of justice that Donald Trump committed when he fired James Comey and which he ADMITTED TO ON TAPE in multiple TV interviews EXPIRES.

Are you going to just let him run the clock out? https://twitter.com/donwinslow/status/1469026961750052869?s=20

There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that (my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.)

The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that (my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.)

- Isaac Asimov, 1980

I go back a couple decades before that:
Quote
To those who suspect that intellect is a subversive force in society, it will not do to reply that intellect is really a safe, bland, and emollient thing. In a certain sense, the suspicious Tories and militant philistines are right: intellect is dangerous. Left free, there is nothing it will not reconsider, analyze, throw into question. "Let us admit the case of the conservative," John Dewey once wrote. "If we once start thinking no one can guarantee what will be the outcome, except that many objects, ends and institutions will be surely doomed. Every thinker puts some portion of an apparently stable world in peril, and no one can wholly predict what will emerge in its place." Further, there is no way of guaranteeing that an intellectual class will be discreet and restrained in the use of its influence; the only assurance that can be given to any community is that it will be far worse off if it denies the free uses of the power of intellect than if it permits them. To be sure, intellectuals, contrary to the fantasies of cultural vigilantes, are hardly ever subversive of a society as a whole. But intellect is always on the move against something: some oppression, fraud, illusion, dogma, or interest is constantly falling under the scrutiny of the intellectual class and becoming the object of exposure, indignation, or ridicule.

Richard Hofstadter, Anti-Intellectualism in American Life (1963)

Or, a year later:
Quote
If for every error and every act of incompetence one can substitute an act of treason, many points of fascinating interpretation are open to the paranoid imagination.
Richard Hofstadter, The Paranoid Style in American Politics and Other Essays (1964)

Wanna play in the big leagues, Letitia?

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-sues-new-york-attorney-general-letitia-james-in-an-effort-to-halt-her-probe-into-trump-organization

That's a Little League play, Kid, not big league. Trump throws lawsuits around the way others do candy at Halloween. And despite the fact that Trump has been on one side or the other of almost any non-lawyer, I am pretty sure that AG James has seen more than Trump has.

You misunderstand her choosing not to run. But what else is new.

And comparing the two is silly, anyway.

Trump is a scumbag, and he brings out the worst in Americans. And Trump is not a real Republican. We need to blow Trump out of the water by bringing in a real gentleman Republican, Gordon Smith of Oregon, who would be our first Mormon President.

Real Republicans would make our immigrants legal and would expand trade with Mexico, and we would lift up the good Mexicans. Real Republicans would not be building walls.

And the whole "Grab her by the pussy" thing, Trump is not a gentleman like Gordon Smith is.

Gordon Smith is a billionaire too, he is a smart businessman, but unlike Trump Gordon Smith is a gentleman.

I hope that Gordon Smith is healthy and I hope that Gordon Smith is in top form, and if he is healthy then I hope that he will consider running for President of the United States.

His platform can be making our immigrants legal, and expanding trade with Latin America, and improving world trade. And Gordon Smith understands farming, etc.

If Gordon Smith can win the people of color and the women, and the immigrants, plus the farmers, and the real Republicans, then Gordon Smith can win.

Salute,

Tony V.

She cant win without playing the black card.  Once Abrams was running in Ga all the black backing went to Stacy.
