Happy Presidents Day!

“Choose your leaders with wisdom and forethought.
To be led by a coward is to be controlled by all that the coward fears.
To be led by a fool is to be led by the opportunists who control the fool.
To be led by a thief is to offer up your most precious treasures to be stolen.
To be led by a liar is to ask to be told lies.
To be led by a tyrant is to sell yourself and those you love into slavery.”

When did she write that?

It perfectly nails how the GOP became this shambolic iteration of itself wracking the country like a hellacious skin disease wasting in its waste.

Red will probably incoherently disagree.

No one will care what he has to say.

Butler was a great SF writer.  Died way too young.  There's a theory I've heard from some fans who work in medical fields that she was an example of a problem in the medical community of overmedicating hypertension and that her fatal fall was not a result of stroke but of syncope (fainting from too low BP).  Overmedicating BP can also cause depression, which she suffered from for years.

Yes he was.  I've occasionally met people, over the years, of the "Nixon wasn't so bad" school, and I enjoy reminding them of his torpedoing of the Smothers bros, so emblematic of his innate fascism.  At least Nixon had some residual sense of shame about this quality, enough to be sneaky about it, unlike the current gasbag.

Bambu, I hope that your wife has a great visit to the USA.

I hope that she does not plan to visit Disneyland, more rain is on the way.

Salute,

Tony V.

Thanks.

She visited Disney-Tokyo and Disney-Hong Kong last year...not the 'real thing' like in America, but good enough to get the idea.
She had the chance to go to USA with a group, in US winter, probably her only chance to ever go, so she took it.
What is hilarious is you actually believed that story. If she comes back you will probably believe that the muscular handsome and toothy Antonio was a "tour guide".

LOL

You know how the saying goes;

"If you love someone, set them free. If they come back they're yours; if they don't they never were."

Yes, Happy Presidents Day.
All together now, sing it loud and proud;

 Hail to the Chief we have chosen for the nation,
 Hail to the Chief! We salute him, one and all.
 Hail to the Chief, as we pledge cooperation
 In proud fulfillment of a great, noble call.

 Yours is the aim to make this grand country grander,
 This you will do, that is our strong, firm belief.
 Hail to the one we selected as commander,
 Hail to the President! Hail to the Chief!

School kids and climate change protests;

Embarrassing image proves children should be learning, not protesting

Feature image: Getty Images

This is the photo that proves children should be in school, rather than on the streets protesting.
After thousands of students ditched class in November, a second ‘day of action’ for climate change is planned for March 15.

However federal Education Minister Dan Tehan claims professional activists are actually the ones orchestrating student strikes.
This photo has emerged from the last lot of rallies and shows why our kids need to focus on learning rather than protesting.

One sign reads, “Scott Morrison you’re so full of sh*t the toilet is jelous [sic].”
That should be “jealous”, with an ‘a’, says Ray Hadley.

Another says, “Act now before they dissappear [sic].”

“Perhaps those young ladies would be better served spending time in a classroom,” says Ray.
“Particularly an English classroom, where they can learn to spell”.

#####

Indeed.

I do remember CBS giving the Smother Bros a lot of heat over the political content of the show, but I didn't associate it with pressure from Nixon. But we should remember that Nixon had the sense to use "Laugh-In" to soften his image.

Embarrassing post proves Bambi should stop trying to make arguments

Ever seen signs at any political rally?

Ever read Donald Trump's tweets?

Those signs are proof that they care enough to try to change the world.

That you are too dense to understand that they are right is not their failure, but yours - and proof that your schooling failed you very badly.

The show pissed LBJ off to no end, but Nixon did help kill the show once he got into office.

Interesting piece on the subject.

This expresses about a quarter of the depth of my sentiments on the subject.

And it applies to RedStateWard (more accurately known as DimBulb) and Kiiid and Bamboozled.
