Plus, the women are the best in the world and the men did not qualify for their tournament,

The USA women dominate women’s soccer because the USA has a much stronger national program than any other country in the world. For women. In the 8 World Cups( 28 years)the USA has won 4, finished second once and third three times.
Men’s competition is not nearly as one sided in 90 years of World Cup  competition.

If you’re the best why shouldn’t you be paid what you’re Worth? Why manipulate the market if this is a meritocracy?
