SCHIFF: And to the degree that it undermines our democracy and institutions, we can agree that it’s also unpatriotic.

MUELLER: True.

SCHIFF: And wrong.

MUELLER: True.

Yawn....REDSTATEWARD got a tax cut.

Yep.    So the GOP would probably like to focus on....

Joseph Mifsud!   (tinfoil hats on, everyone!)

Long article, but worth it for insight into how to distract the zombies.

Also, the guy who spent his entire question time on the meaning of "exculpate" finished a strong second in the Pointless Distraction tournament.   He had a pile of law books and waved them around dramatically.   The use of props is always good for a few points.

Mueller confirms that the President of the United States would be an indicted criminal if he was not able to use his position as a shield.

Predictably REDSTATEWARD and kiidcarter8 are unmoved.

Now, before we go to questions, I want to go back to one thing that was said this morning by Mr. Lieu who said, and I quote, “You didn’t charge the president because of the OLC opinion.” That is not the correct way to say it. As we say in the report, and as I said at the opening, we did not reach a determination as to whether the president committed a crime.

Where does this leave us? Basically, exactly where we were before, which should be unsurprising to anyone who watched as Mueller performed at peak Bartleby all morning, refusing to read words from his own report (leaving House members to read them instead) and declining to amplify anything in the report beyond noting that it was “correct.” He mulishly resisted anyone’s characterization of any legal elements of, say, obstruction. And now, the one bit of news that seemed to have been news has been clarified back into the same exact legal language as was carefully crafted in the report. . It was a misstep that was misunderstood and then retracted, a perfect capsule performance of how dragging an unwilling witness into a polemical hearing was never going to go well

Excerpted from Slate

Lol.

Schiff: In short, your investigation found evidence that Russia wanted to help Trump win the election, right?

Mueller: I think, generally, that would be accurate. [. . .]

Schiff: Russia committed federal crimes in order to help Donald Trump?

Mueller: You’re talking about the computer crimes charged in our case? Absolutely.

Schiff: Trump campaign officials built their strategy, their messaging strategy, around those stolen documents?

Mueller: Generally, that’s true.

Schiff: And then they lied to cover it up?

Mueller: Generally, that’s true.

But clearly the key exchange here was Mueller parsing his words because he knows the OLC determination protects our “President”. That’s what REDSTATWARD dunks on.

No. That is what Mueller rebutted as false.

Luee says "Better safe than sorry."

I am sure Luee feels much safer knowing this high school kid was prevented from going to the college soccer event.

Fortunately, they had a feeble excuse to hold him, if not to do so for three weeks!

https://www.cnn.com/2019/07/23/us/us-citizen-detained-texas/index.html

(His mother should be punished for stupidity.)

Puleeze, it is not as if they are going after all Latino names. All have a case history. Looks like this particular family all had false identity papers. It is more than stupid to slip into the US and make up false papers.

The kid was a US citizen.

He was held for three weeks, even when they had an easy way to verify his citizenship.

He was not a threat!

Like I said, I knew you would be happy.

He should blame those entering illegally.

Yeah, because lawmen are not responsible for following the law or doing their jobs.

Got it.

Asshole.

Prediction:  Impreachment proceedings will begin in October and run right up until the election.
Bottom line: Trump was never fit to be President, usurp the position with the help of Putin, and has been a disgrace to the White race, the Human Race, and any alien race that may be watching.

In a nutshell...

Does Tom Steyer drop out of the race once impeachment hearings begin this fall?

He can team up with Larry Flynt to offer bounties for any evidence that proves or illustrates that trump is truly the biggest piece of shit. The huge payoffs can be directed to third parties or entities in case the squid lashed out on his way down.

We need to balance trade. We need jobs too, our streets are lined with homeless people and we have new immigrants arriving every day who need jobs. And you build on your strengths.

You do not build detention centers and call those job creation. Fuck those jobs.

I would rather have a nice winery making wine, and employing immigrants, and making cheese with milk from my own cows. See, that is how one must think to survive and rise. And it would be great if I could export products to China. (And it would be cool to be able to sell Italian wine in China too.)

You’re right Tony.

To get rid of trump and these stupid polices, you’re going to have to let go of Regan too. Manafort & Stone got legitimized under that watch.

“Boosted” was a word used by the Special Council today. Regan “boosted” corporate raiding while brutally attacking unions and anyone who could do math.

It will still take a lot of work to make America worse than Russia and the USSR historically, but Putin has the puppet in the White House that is proceeding towards exactly that.

Congressman Hurd is all that’s left of the Republican Party.

Red is a Vandal, minus the horsemanship and artistic panache.

The “oh fuck” klaxon is sounding incessantly in bambi’s troll farm. It’s funny what he posts. It’s almost Marxist timing.

The impeachment hearings will be broken up by gouts of emergency hearings to understand and address the likely economic turn toward collapse. When will anyone have time to campaign?

This is all without the regular disasters a shouldn’t be administration routinely creates.

But clearly the key exchange here was Mueller parsing his words because he knows the OLC determination protects our “President”. That’s what REDSTATWARD dunks on.

No. That is what Mueller rebutted as false.

Mueller rebutted his own report as false?  NO.  He parsed his words.  In his report he makes clear he does not make a determination because charging the President when there would be no trial gives Trump no official avenue to address the charges.  But in the report he also says that if he could have cleared Trump he would have, and today he said that Trump is not exonerated of the obstruction charge, while describing actions by Trump and his associates that sound an awful lot like obstruction.  So you do the math.

If Obama had okayed a tax cut Hillary would be President today.

And you would still be talking about bringing her up on criminal charges over her emails even as in the real world you are A-OK with a Republican "President" who obstructs justice and commits a little light treason.

REDSTATEWARD got his tax cut.
