Washington (CNN)Republicans savaged President Donald Trump Wednesday for allowing Turkey to attack US allies in Syria as the President offered varying reasons for giving Turkey the green light, including the fact that Kurds did not fight alongside the US in World War II.

Another high crime:

https://www.bloomberg.com/amp/news/articles/2019-10-09/trump-urged-top-aide-to-help-giuliani-client-facing-doj-charges?__twitter_impression=true

It’s like the Monty Python skit. So many Impeachable offenses just sliding out of Trump, he doesn’t even pause when one comes out while doing the dishes. “Oh just pick it up and find space for it in the corner, would you Audrey?”

Every squirm is sacred, every squirm is good...

How right Kurt Eichenwald was about Trump and Istanbul in 2016!  Good grief!

So Trump decided the US military should step aside and permit Turkey to:
1) invade a sovereign country in violation of international law
2) ethnic cleanse a large strip of Syrian territory (the plan is to run the Kurds out of their homes and villages and replace them with Sunni-Syrian refugees now in Turkey) -- This is a war crime
3) attack and kill a loyal US allies who helped defeat ISIS,

The Kurds are also secular Muslims of the type the US should support.
(ironically so is Assad, and so was Saddam . . .)
And of course this invasion gives Erdogan and Turkey more say and power in Syria.
Not even to get into Trump's personal financial interest in keeping Erdogan happy.

Edit: Somehow I agree with awful and corrupt Netanyahu on this:

Quote
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is condemning the Turkish invasion of Kurdish areas in Syria and warning of an “ethnic cleansing” against them.

Netanyahu says Thursday that Israel is prepared to extend humanitarian assistance to the “gallant Kurdish people.”

Sex tapes on Fudgy the Whale. Everywhere you see his name on a condo, the leaders have sex tapes on him.

Trump turning on the Kurds is an excellent indicator that the republicans will turn on each other and abandon their dead leader walking.

Possibly they will sign up to work directly for Putin in future to avoid questionable middle men like don and Rudy.

France needs to be strong.

France needs to help the Ukraine against Russia, and France needs to defend the Kurds from Turkey. France is strong, and France has nukes.

France can help to keep the peace on the world stage.

And of course there is the European Union, which was supposed to accept the Ukraine. Turkey at one point thought about joining the E.U., but it never happened, but Turkey is a part of NATO.

I think if we can stop the extremists, then all of the moderates can live in peace.

France can help.

Latinos can join the French Foreign Legion if they want, the Colombians, and Mexicans, etc, the refugees from Venezuela, they are all welcome, from what I understand.

Erdogan is a joke, we can shut down Turkey's economy over night. We can be a friend, and we can get along peacefully, and we can do trade, or we can shut them down and turn them into peasants and refugees.

I want peace.

It's nothing new.

Ford and Kissinger gave Indonesia the green light to invade East Timor.

On the day before the invasion, US President Gerald R. Ford and Kissinger met with Indonesian president Suharto. Documents released by the National Security Archive in 2001 revealed that they gave a green light for the invasion. ... The US hoped the invasion would be relatively swift and not involve protracted resistance.

In the cities, Indonesian troops began killing East Timorese.[35] At the start of the occupation, FRETILIN radio sent the following broadcast: "The Indonesian forces are killing indiscriminately. Women and children are being shot in the streets.
We are all going to be killed.... This is an appeal for international help. Please do something to stop this invasion."[36] One Timorese refugee told later of "rape [and] cold-blooded assassinations of women and children and Chinese shop owners".[37]
Dili's bishop at the time, Martinho da Costa Lopes, said later: "The soldiers who landed started killing everyone they could find. There were many dead bodies in the streets – all we could see were the soldiers killing, killing, killing."[38]
In one incident, a group of fifty men, women, and children – including Australian freelance reporter Roger East – were lined up on a cliff outside of Dili and shot, their bodies falling into the sea.[39]

Many such massacres took place in Dili, where onlookers were ordered to observe and count aloud as each person was executed.[40] In addition to FRETILIN supporters, Chinese migrants were also singled out for execution; five hundred were killed in the first day alone.[41]

Another perfect reason why Australia must get nukes and soon.
Relying on others for one's security/self-defence is a failed policy.

Military assistance was accelerated during the Carter administration, peaking in 1978.[76] In total, the United States furnished over $250,000,000 of military assistance to Indonesia between 1975 and 1979.[77]

Testifying before the US Congress, the Deputy Legal Advisor of the US State Department, George Aldrich said the Indonesians "were armed roughly 90 percent with our equipment. ... we really did not know very much. Maybe we did not want to know very much but I gather that for a time we did not know." Indonesia was never informed of the supposed US "aid suspension". David T. Kenney, Country Officer for Indonesia in the US State Department, also testified before Congress that one purpose for the arms was "to keep that area [Timor] peaceful."[78]

The UN's Commission for Reception, Truth and Reconciliation in East Timor (CAVR) stated in the "Responsibility" chapter of its final report that US "political and military support were fundamental to the Indonesian invasion and occupation" of East Timor between 1975 and 1999. The report (p. 92) also stated that "U.S. supplied weaponry was crucial to Indonesia's capacity to intensify military operations from 1977 in its massive campaigns to destroy the Resistance in which aircraft supplied by the United States played a crucial role."[79][80]

Clinton Administration officials told the New York Times that US support for Suharto was "driven by a potent mix of power politics and emerging markets." Suharto was Washington's favoured ruler of the "ultimate emerging market" who deregulated the economy and opened Indonesia to foreign investors. "He's our kind of guy," said a senior Administration official who dealt often on Asian policy.[81]

Australian govts were not blameless either...just went along with it all...baaah!

Not the People though!
There was some disquiet towards policy with the Australian public, because of the deaths of the Australian journalists and arguably also because the actions of the Timorese people in supporting Australian forces during the Battle of Timor in World War II were well-remembered. Protests took place in Australia against the occupation, and some Australian nationals participated in the resistance movement.[citation needed]

The right wing stonewall or firewall is leaking so badly its now most accurately described as “bleeding out” and is now much more of a moat.

We’ll see what’s been improperly tucked on the Super Secret Server.

Dumpster don should have spent more than one nose pick learning what executive privilege is, and taken his info from a non-idiot lawyer, the kind who won’t return his calls.

Best way to have peace is for Trump to do what he promised to do...destroy the economy of Turkey "in my infinite wisdom, if Turkey does anything I don't like"...or whatever it was like that he said.

10,000 ISIS prisoners rejoining the battlefield.
Ridiculous.

Was the food contaminated at the last Washington dinner?
That can be the only explanation for this lunacy.

Can't keep US troops in Syria/other warzones forever...but loyal US Allies should not just be abandoned, to be slaughtered by Turkey or anyone else.

This did not go down well in Australia the other day...some were asking the obvious question; "Who's next, Australia"?
It was noted and mentioned that, basically..."When you rely on Washington for your security, there are really no guarantees, the admin at the time is all-powerful and their whims rule."
