Joe Biden tonight

Spending $1.9 trillion...7 million new jobs...yet he seems to be canning pipelines etc that would be bringing in revenue.

If you sold your roof for scrap it would bring your household some revenue. Have you done that yet?

There are much better energy options/solutions than an extended pipeline to bring tar sand oil from central Canada down by the border of Mexico to ship to China.

Otherwise, Biden is starting to put the squeeze on MBS in Saudi Arabia.  Says he'll deal with the actual head of state, the 85 year old king.  Putting pressure on the Saudis to end their war in Yemen.  Limiting/reviewing arm sales to the Saudis until they do.  SA just released one key female activist after 3 years in jail, which is being interpreted as a gesture towards Biden.  Certainly a lot better than the explicit Trump policy of making money from weapon sales to Saudi Arabia, making money off the killing of Yemenis and destruction of Yemen.  Kushner buddied up to the erratic dangerous Prince MBS as though Jared was a member of the Bush family.

Guy on my tv news just now, in Texas , said:

"We need more power generation in this state"!!!!!

Indeed, obviously.
People freezing everywhere.

Coal fired power stations...new generation ones...Aussie has plenty of "clean-burning" coal.
The current ones just don't cut it.

Big America needs big power!

Massive immigration, and not enough power...not good.

I don't own a roof...the complex does.

I’m sure Mrs Bambu prefers it that way. You are definitely not to be trusted.

The Left sure knows how to spend money.

Plenty going out...any extra coming in?

Go to college, do a 'useless' degree, run up $100,000 in fees debt, and your life is basically stuffed?
Are there jobs for people getting a degree in Russian Literature"?

It took some convincing to get the little lady to agree to buying into the complex.
It's great. New. They own it, they are responsible for maintaining it...gardens, aircon everything. Hailstorm smashes the roof...I tour the world on YouTube while they have it all fixed.

I'm the one who wants to live on a strict budget...realising what could happen if one doesn't... every cent accounted for.
I run into opposition.  lol
Little lady doesn't want to be bothered with 'financial matters'. ..having spent a lifetime doing so in her occupation.
Not a lot of opposition, ...and I don't want to be, or seem to be, a 'bully'...so I pay the monthly bills first, and the rest we make do on.

Transgender youth are children or adolescents who do not identify with the sex they were assigned at birth.
Because transgender youth are usually dependent on their parents for care, shelter, financial support, and other needs, and because most doctors are reluctant to provide medical treatments to them, transgender youth face different challenges compared to adults.
There is a broad consensus among experts and professional associations that appropriate care may include supportive mental health care, social transition, and puberty blockers, which delay puberty and the development of secondary sex characteristics to give children time to make decisions about more permanent courses of action.[1][2][3] Questions have been raised regarding the morality of allowing children to transition and whether or not children can give informed consent for transitioning, as there are permanent ramifications from hormone therapy, and most children with gender dysphoria end up identifying with their biological sex after reaching puberty.

Interest rates are historically low and we have neglected supporting and updating our infrastructure  and allowed a perverse concentration of wealth for decades. The spending you queef about is not only necessary but highly popular. Only the dimmest of bulbs is trying to find it problematic and they are all struggling to make a credible case.

Joe will persist and prevail. America will be better for it both for the good it will do and because of how it will further break the GOP.

Back in the early 1970's, when there was the "oil crisis", and there were very high gasoline prices, and gas rationing, and people were buying kerosene heaters and wood stoves to try to save on energy costs, the Texans drove around with bumper stickers that said, "Let 'em freeze, in the dark!". In Houston, they had another one that said, "“Drive 80 mph and freeze a Yankee”.

Texas has always practiced its own version of exceptionalism within the United States.

I think we should help them remember that.

Fuck Texas.

"Let 'em freeze, in the dark!"

Not a baseball story, but baseball fans know Herb Washington:

One of McDonald’s most prominent Black franchisees says overarching “racist policies” at the fast food giant hamstrung his business, forcing him to downsize.

In a discrimination lawsuit filed Tuesday, Herb Washington says the burger behemoth only allowed him to buy low-volume stores in disadvantaged neighborhoods and then withheld the types of rent breaks, hardship relief and renovation extensions “routinely” extended to white owners...

...“The corporate entitled knee has been on my neck, my throat, for 40 years,” he said Tuesday...

...McDonald’s defended itself in a statement to The News, saying it has tried to help Washington.

“Herb Washington is facing business challenges that we don’t want for anyone in our system. It’s why we’ve invested significantly in his organization and offered him multiple opportunities over several years to address these issues,” the company said.

This situation is the result of years of mismanagement by Mr. Washington, whose organization has failed to meet many of our standards on people, operations, guest satisfaction and reinvestment,” McDonald’s said.

“His restaurants have a public record of these issues including past health and sanitation concerns and some of the highest volumes of customer complaints in the country,” the company said.

So, it's like a kind of sharecropping featuring burgers & fries, eh?

Dems need to spread the narrative that Republicans are bad at governing.
GOPers don't believe in gov't, don't think it's useful and run it incompetently.
W Bush and Trump as prime examples.
As are rural Red states with high CV rates.
And freezing dark Texas.
Played right, this could help push TX into purple territory.
Definitely an op for the Dems to push competence, unity and concern.
Instead of go-it-alone right-wing ideology.

And there should be plenty of green energy jobs, such as manufacturing solar panels and turbines, installation, computer programming, maintenance, etc.

Wind and solar are obviously the energy and energy industries of the future.
They are already as cheap as natural gas/coal.
While the reduced pollution and reduction in climate change is a huge benefit.
Also there will be a lot less money flowing to corrupt oil dictatorships.

It's like the phase-out of gasoline powered vehicles.
It can either happen quickly or slowly, but it's going to happen.
The sooner the better (as practicable) for the health of humans and the planet.
There'll be a lot of misinformation as a dying industry tries to squeeze out as much profit as they can before the transition.

Biden Admin should target removing the subsidies that the oil and gas industry enjoys.  I'd like to find a list of those to see what can be done.

The transition has to be gradual.
Every person in America now who has a job needs to keep that job or be able to switch to another job of equal value in a seamless way...or have their life ruined.
For example...everyone in America who is making a good living as a diesel engine specialist.

All major transitions take some time.   There was a period of two decades (or more in some parts of the US) where horses and carriages were sharing streets with automobiles.  Farriers and liverymen had some time to transition.
