Never quite understood what the condition of Arbery s pedicure had to do with whether the man who shot him was guilty of murder. I suspect the jury was also baffled. And unimpressed by the atrocious comments of the defense.
It was an attempt to dehumanize Arbery in the eyes of the jury and reinforce the Fear of the Dangerous Black Man.

Ten years ago that defense might have worked out in favor of the defendants.
But this is the Georgia that not only elected two Democratic Senators it elected a Jewish man and a Black man.
The eleven white people on that jury believed what they saw with their own eyes and heard with their own ears.
