Nearly a quarter of fatal shootings by police in the U.S. involve mentally ill people. But advocates say registries of individuals with disabilities intended to avoid such incidents pose many problems.
-------------------
That is why you use Crisis Intervention Specialists instead of cops.
And you have Wellness Centers where people can get help. Like in Orange.
Use the cops for law enforcement, let Crisis Intervention Specialists deal with the mentally ill people, and with the homeless people, etc, there are many things that trained social professionals need to deal with instead of cops.
Orange County is already using Crisis Intervention Specialists, they are highly trained, and it is a good paying job, but it is a hard job and you need talent for it. I have a friend who is a Crisis Intervention Specialist and she owns her own house on the beach. It is a good job. And she deserves good pay, she is a good person who helps society.
The Crisis Intervention Specialists are trained for the hardest of situations, like a Combat Medic. As Combat Medics leave the service, they can become Crisis Intervention Specialists and they can have a nice home on the beach and they can have a good life. It is a good job for the right people, like the Combat Medics.
And a lot of veterans can find jobs at the Wellness Centers, etc, helping homeless veterans, etc.
