You seem to think Dems should not do the right thing for fear of retaliation against Harris or others.

No.  The impeachment was nonsense.  Political theater for purpose of future vote tallies.

Sad that our senators were used for such folly.

I think impeaching Clinton after 6 years of investigating him for everything under the sun and settling on a fib about a blow-job was nonsense.

Impeaching Trump's leading role in the insurrection was not.

Trump was guilty and is a traitor.

Again I think if you infer that the true "guilty" vote was more than "57,  58 if you count McConnell's *, you might understand that its very probable your opinion represents about a 1/3 in this country, and maybe understand as Mitch does about 1/3 doesn't get him what he wants.

Won't happen for at least two years. Probably not then, either.

As I said.

You've admitted declared that your party's ethics are corrupt.

I accept your statement.

As you said.

The impeachment showed you have at least 55 senators who will vote to impose sanctions against insurrectionists as described in the 14th amendment when those findings are upheld in courts of law.

Kid thinks trump and his fascist wives are off the hook because it is no longer in his lip. The hook is no longer in his lip because he has swallowed it and that hook on its line is working it’s way through his guts.

No.  The impeachment was nonsense.  Political theater for purpose of future vote tallies.

Sad that our senators were used for such folly.

Your opinion is not even shared by your whole party.

The CRIME was admitted to.

The only issue in dispute was the constitutionality, which was both already tested and determined in the past (1876) and accepted by a majority of the Senators, including a bunch of the GOP.

The man was held to be guilty by 57 Senators out of 100, clearly not "Political Theater," except by your party - having multiple senators, possibly enough to get to two-thirds, admit that Trump had committed the crime of which he was accused, but who voted it down, is what makes it a travesty.

Your inability to come to grips with those facts speaks to you, not to the Dems.

Someone needs to make a television show with characters who work at a Wellness Center, and the show can have characters who are Crisis Intervention Specialists, and the makers of the show can do research and they can learn from the best of the best, at the Wellness Center in Orange, etc, Orange County has a great Wellness Center in Orange which can be the basis for a new television show. And the show can teach the world the best ways to deal with the mentally ill, and with the homeless, and with the veterans, etc.

The name of the show could be "Be Well O.C." or something like that. And the show can teach people who watch the show how to deal with various hard situations pertaining to mental health, etc.

And instead of dealing with dog whisperers, these are people whisperers.

The show needs to show the cutting edge, best ways to deal with the homeless and with the mentally ill, etc. The makers of the show need to do their homework before filming, and they need to learn from the best of the best, and then the show needs to really do a great job of showing what a great team of professionals can do to help the homeless and the mentally ill and the veterans, etc.

They can learn from the Wellness Center in Orange...

https://bewelloc.org/

And they can learn from the Mental Health Association in Santa Ana...

https://mhaoc.org/

And they can learn from the Crisis Intervention Specialists, and from the people who are helping the homeless people every day, and who are helping the mentally ill every day, etc.

Salute,

Tony V.

If the other GOP senators had voted to convict,  they would have essentially been admitting they had spent the past four years in dereliction of their duty to the constitution and the nation while sucking up to a demagogue.  That's their perception, anyway.   To acquit now is to indict yourself in the past.

They want us to believe that Trump so "wanted to stay in power" that he directed an attack on the Capitol.

As if this occurring under his direction would ever lead to his keeping the Presidency.

Idiot!

"Stop the Steal!" he cried, repeatedly.

Yes, he thought it could lead to his keeping the presidency.

Only you true believers (especially though who pretend they are not and that they have moved on) believe otherwise.

Oh no no, you see it wasn't about the presidency it was about the money! kid admits

The House managers made it clear they were giving a hall pass to a lot of Republicans for the 4 years of enabling of Trump, But the insurrection, and Trump's incitement was a different matter, that serious statesmen and women who could put country ahead of party could easily vote for. IMO the lionization of Pence for not going along with Trump's scheme and counting as determined by the EC was a little over the top, but it was done to make it easier for the cowards to vote against Trump by voting in essence for their disgust with the idea of hanging Pence.

But they left Mike hanging.

His safety was nothing compared to the possibility of angering Don Don, capo di tutti de capi.

yesterday they drank the Trump kool-aid and signed on for his ongoing leadership in exile, and hopefully his army of deplorables, at least until '22.

Trump will always lose a popular vote.  Please run him again in 2024.
