If it could be established that some men are more chemically resistant than others, then it could be natural selection, too. Though, as got repeatedly drummed into me, evolution is often not about survival of the fittest, but the luckiest....

My degree included evolutionary biology.  Quite right on that last,  especially where a mutation-based change happens to be more adaptive to a current environmental factor.
It's also unfortunate that the old Darwinian nomenclature, "fitness, " is often confused with its meaning in the popular sense.   Fitness,  in evolutionary theory,  means nothing beyond adaptive phenotypes with respect to an environment where that phenotypes reproductive chances are greatest.

There are also quite random factors affecting allele frequency, like genetic drift.  But that's for another chat.

In the case of endocrine disruptors like PFAS,  a set of alleles that happened to increase the body's resistance to its sterilizing effects would,  in a natural setting (without advanced medical interventions), increase in frequency in the population,  i. e.  be selected for.   Assuming that set of alleles didn't have some other maladaptive effect,  too,  like some inability to absorb key vitamins.   We don't know yet, and we do know that the frequency of intercourse in hominin bonded pairs is such that even males with low sperm counts can sire multiple offspring.   But,  yes, as counts drop very low in large segments of a population, then males with more resistance to endocrine disruption  would possibly start to pass on their genes more widely,  especially in regions with less medical intervention availability to boost fertility.   (but there are many confounding factors there...)

Thank you for all of the above!

"many confounding factors" seems like an understatement, if a well phrased one.

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — Kroger is closing three more of its stores in Los Angeles after the city passed a “hero pay” ordinance mandating a $5 pay bump for grocery and pharmacy workers.

Kroger says its Ralphs and Food 4 Less associates in Los Angeles already earn $18 an hour. With health care and pension benefits, their total compensation comes to $24 an hour, according to Kroger. The grocery store giant says it has also invested $2.5 billion to reward its associates and implement safety measures since the start of the pandemic, and recently issued $50 million in rewards to frontline associates.

The company also pointed to its efforts to vaccinate its frontline workers as quickly as possible, touting three vaccine clinics taking place this week for its associates in Los Angeles. Kroger, which is offering a $100 vaccination reward to its employees, says nearly 20% of its associates have received their first dose or are fully vaccinated.

“Prioritizing vaccinations — not arbitrary mandates for extra pay — is what will keep frontline workers protected,” a Kroger spokesperson said in the statement.

Kudos to Kroger to fight back against the misguided efforts of government interfering in its business.

Congrats to Vons, Albertsons, Trader Joe’s, or whoever else takes over those highly profitable locations.

If those locations are profitable,  Kroger's isn't going to close them over a temporary  five dollar hazardous duty pay bump.   I suspect those stores were slated for closure anyway and Kroger's is just using this opportunity to vent on big gummint.

Kimberly Holmes: What Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth's relationship teaches us about our own

Please, we fought a revolution to escape the humiliation and expense of a mangod.

Her Majesty the Queen, Defender of the Faith, is not a "mangod", does not claim to be one, and is not treated like one.
She says the Christian prayers in church just like anyone else.

We've moved on since the 1700s.
...and the 1800s.

https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/world/the-queen-sits-alone-at-prince-philips-funeral-as-she-farewells-her-husband-of-73-years/ar-BB1fLmhP?ocid=AVRES000&li=AAgfYrC&OCID=AVRES000

The Queen sits alone at Prince Philip's funeral as she farewells her husband of 73 years

A stoic Queen Elizabeth II sat alone in St George's Chapel at Windsor as she farewelled her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, who died last week aged 99.

In doing so, she experienced the heartache of millions around the world who've been kept apart from loved ones at times of great personal grief, due to COVID-19.

The Queen, dressed in black and wearing a black hat and face mask, sat quietly during the service with her head bowed.

While anyone else might have had a supportive hand to hold, the Queen had none.

So, she had no support like the way the Queen and the rest of the German family who occupies the British throne supported Diana.

Okay, royalist.

Charles wanted Camilla, but tradition dictated he had Diana instead.
It all turned sour and tragic.
Princess Margaret wasn't allowed to marry who [or whom, I'm no english prof] she wanted to either.
She was never really happy.
That was then, this is now...and American divorcee Meghan Markle was embraced.
That seems to almost have turned sour and tragic as well.

The Queen, ... little, frail, dressed in black, sat all alone at the funeral, head bowed...the Commonwealth cried.

So ‘Ole Joe whose Immigration poll numbers are not so good * kept the Trump cap on refugees  for all of a day?
Then the Progressive Puppeteers took over and Joe ( the puppet) changed his mind.
How predictable. It would be embarrassing if Joe had any integrity.
With none his naps are undisturbed.

I just finished watching the Royal Funeral.

You have a President, who lives in a white palace, pomp and ceremony..."Hail to the Chief", "The Commander in Chief".
The president much revered...much "worshipped" by most.
The expense is astronomical.

Nobody believes in royal families anymore. Just a useless expense. From the European dark ages when almost no one else educated was around.

Really.

Kroger's store closures in Los Angeles follow a larger pattern of ceasing business once local governments demand that they pay their frontline workers more. In the beginning of February, the Los Angeles Times reported that following a mandated pay bump of $4 per hour in Long Beach, California, Kroger closed two of their stores, stating that they could not afford to operate under such a budget and blaming the government for overstepping its boundaries. This ignores The Cincinnati Enquirer's report that Kroger's sales increased by 8.4 percent during the pandemic.

"Supermarkets, as we all know, have made high profits, and yet some are threatening to close. It's clearly out of spite or out of an attempt to leverage us," Spectrum News 1 quotes Councilmember Paul Koretz as saying before voting for the motion. The points of the motion are that the City Council would be able to compel witnesses for an examination of why Kroger closed their stores, request with the threat of a subpoena the presence of store executives, and use the outcome of the hearing to inform future grocery legislature and strategies for combating food deserts.

A larger threat, however, has been made by Marc Perrone, the international president of the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union. Quoted by Winsight Grocery Business, Perrone lambasted Kroger's decision to treat a pay bump as an opportunity to threaten their workers and communities and declared the intention to "use every tool available to ensure that Kroger follows the law and that our state and federal leaders hold companies accountable for flagrantly choosing to evade these vital workplace laws." A concerted action by the UFCW may hurt Kroger more than the findings of the motion.

With both a major union and city governments angered by its tactics, Kroger appears to have a battle brewing before it.

No MBA, but I know punishing people in these neighborhoods with food deserts is not indicative of Kroger competently maintaining good relations with the people of that city.
Instead,  they chose spiteful actions and strongarm leveraging.

All golf courses should be repurposed as food co-ops for those who can’t or don’t want to spend much at all on food.

Red is hilarious today. It’s great fun watching an incontinent worm snipe at an elephant. Pucker up your blow hole one more time, Red. You’ll definitely get him with the next one. I’m sure the nap reference really stung. Thank God people like you are finally losing their grip on this country.
