”After stoking fear of a Black uprising that would upend their way of life, endanger their women and bring about an unfathomable new American reality in which Black men—not white—governed, white city leaders pledged to “choke the current of the Cape Fear with carcasses” rather than allow Wilmington’s Black citizens to succeed, and lead.

When the carnage ended, more than 100 Black government officials—city councilmen, the city clerk, the treasurer, the city attorney and others—had been forced from their elected roles. Somewhere between 60 and 250 Black citizens were murdered.”

On January 6, 2021 thousands of white supremacists stormed the US Capitol to ‘Stop the Steal’ for their anger was directed at the votes of BIPOC folks whose coalition provided the winning margins in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arizona and Georgia.

If the insurrection had been successful the US government line of succession would have been decapitated and executive power would have remained with defeated president.

If that doesn’t tell where this nation is in terms of “progress” you’re either delusional, intellectually dishonest or stupid.

Achtung, motherfuckers!

”I must confess that over the past few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to 'order' than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice” [...]

People pick, pawn, and whites act to overthrow their government when they feel their racial privilege is in jeopardy. It all part of our history.

The company should spend more time on things like Wilmington and Seneca Village (thanks Josh) than pawns and pickings. Send a note to the programming office. You can use big words and take whatever liberties you please with apostrophe marks. I’m sure they will take you as seriously as we do.

So if we want to discuss CRT, why bother with opinion pieces? Here are a few simple questions:

What is Critical Race Theory, and what does it teach?

Who is being taught it, and under what classes/circumstances?

Why is it historically inaccurate - or rather, why is it an inappropriate way to view American history, to such an extent that merely teaching it needs to be surpressed?

What view of race and racism in the US do you believe should be taught, and why doesn't that view share the same problem you identify as a problem with CRT?

I think that is far more valuable a discussion than discussing an opinion piece that can simply and legitimately be answered by, no it is not.

That you still don't understand what a strawman is doesn't surprise me.    But thank God you no longer feel compelled to call Bankshot a child molester.
Clearly, because banks has joined his anti Larry cabal.
Nope I just thought Utley asked a legit on topic question.

"You say 'legit on topic question'.  I say 'trolling and race-baiting'." (sung to the tune of "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off").

Of course you say that. That's a classic woke playbook strategy: attack anyone who questions the woke-notions derigueur!

"Woke-notions derigueur!!!"  Now you're using one of them, there foreign dictionaries.  That you think you're entitled to the benefit of the doubt, that you actually wish to engage in serious, intellectual discourse, given your history here, is very amusing.  If you actually want to discuss these things, as I said earlier, you're probably better off going someplace where people don't think you're an asshole.

Back to the CoW playbook, I see.

Sad that you have to play such games. If only I was the only one you target this way, so be it, but you do it with several posters here.

Are hou trying to make up for something small in your life?

Or maybe it's what's happening in the Bronx that has you so unsettled that you wish to engage as such.

Whatever.
You're still here?

You're still out on married?

This is an example of where you go wrong.

Making a big deal about CRT in primary education is a bullshit scare mongering argument just like the Mexican caravans, Defund the Police and the biggest bogeyman, Socialism.

CRT is not being taught in primary schools on a scale to merit this much hysteria.

Lime, here’s the nut of the issue for me:

How do we preserve, appreciate, and share the rich legacy that is the tapestry of human cultures without enforcing and perpetuating the tribalism that makes terrible and blood-soaked on grand scales in terms of years and people “the homicidal bitching that goes on in every kitchen to decide who will serve and who will eat”?

As we move along the ray defined with a rock or sharp stick as its origin, passing through point AR-15, the question gets more pressing by the day.

I thought you were poking me for my racism, which has me currently disinvited from Ham’s picnic. I seem to ruffle some feathers here that way, but usually not yours.

Just today McConnell has indicated that if the Repos retake the Senate he will likely embargo ANY judicial nomination from the Biden administration. That is who Manchin seeks bipartisanship with. He is a sucker and repos are laughing up their sleeves at him. The Repos value bipartisanship below a bucket of spit.
