President Joe Biden

We stand with the Cuban people and their clarion call for freedom and relief from the tragic grip of the pandemic and from the decades of repression and economic suffering to which they have been subjected by Cuba’s authoritarian regime. The Cuban people are bravely asserting fundamental and universal rights. Those rights, including the right of peaceful protest and the right to freely determine their own future, must be respected. The United States calls on the Cuban regime to hear their people and serve their needs at this vital moment rather than enriching themselves.

President George W. Bush wanted to work hard here in the Western Hemisphere, before 9/11 happened and all of the focus went to the Middle East. Imagine if we would have spent all of that money that was spent in the Middle East here in the Western Hemisphere instead. It seems like everything that we do in the Middle East is just a waste of time, but here in the Western Hemisphere we can get big rewards. We can let Saudi Arabia worry about the Middle East, they can take care of their own people, and we can focus on our own people here in the Western Hemisphere. ( As far as Israel goes, they just built a wall around Israel and the Jews try to keep the Muslims out. Israel can take care of themselves. We can learn from the Jews, we have no duty to take care of the Muslims, we need to help our own people instead. ) And maybe if Saudi Arabia felt some duty to take care of their homeless and their needy in the Middle East, and to work to improve human rights, and women's rights, then things would get better there for them, let them help their own people. Meanwhile, we can help our good Christian allies here in the Western Hemisphere to live better lives.
On the issue of Cuba, when Cuba gets their freedom then we need to embrace and help the people of Cuba, we can expand trade, and we can increase tourism, etc, and we can work to help Cuba.
It is time to focus on helping our good Christian allies who are living in poverty here in the Western Hemisphere. We need to focus on helping people from the top of Alaska to the bottom of Chile.
We need to help all people, but especially we need to help our good Christian allies.
And the battle in the Western Hemisphere is a war against poverty, the war will be fought by school teachers who are teaching the children, and by business-people who are creating jobs and honest opportunities, and by the World Bank and other banks which can give business loans to the people.
In Colombia, the President attended Harvard, and we help to support education for the children, and we have worked to expand honest trade, and things have improved in Colombia. We need to work hard all over the Western Hemisphere as we have in Colombia and we can have success.
Salute,
Tony V.
