That is one thing, if I open a night club, a cold beer always has value, you might consider me to be worthless, but a cold beer is still worth eight dollars. And the beer is even better if I hire a beautiful young waitress to serve it to you.

Salute,

It's quite something, listening to Ward crow about the bogus low COVID rate in Florida, when across the country his party members are dying at a far higher rate from COVID than other people are.

Quote
Since May 2021, people living in counties that voted heavily for Donald Trump during the last presidential election have been nearly three times as likely to die from COVID-19 as those who live in areas that went for now-President Biden. That's according to a new analysis by NPR that examines how political polarization and misinformation are driving a significant share of the deaths in the pandemic.

This is a stunning figure and one we need to find a way to stop.

We need to convince people to get vaccinated. And we need to convince people like Kid to get the damned booster shot.

Marjorie Taylor Greene criticized COVID-19 restrictions saying 'not a single school has closed because of cancer'

The degree of cluelessness that she exhibits on a regular basis is stunning.

That she will likely be reelected by a wide margin is even moreso.

You dont want a bill sitting around too long.  People might read it.

The scientists presenting climate data and vaccination data must feel like the DM in this vignette, talking to the GOP.

What does that really mean when they say that Florida has the lowest rate in the country?

It means that at this time their rate is lowest in the country

It helps to read the facts produced for you.  And that goes for Red as well.  If you have evidence that the differential reporting for partial year residents is not as stated in the healthline article, then you need to post it.  To not argue on the facts, and to ignore them with meaningless political gibes, is to acknowledge you have lost the debate.

You cannot always be right, and we all know it is even less likely we are right when we deal with topics on which we are poorly informed and have avoided experts attempts to clarify.

Both Hawaii and Florida have low infection rates, which relates to the well documented effect of warm climate and outdoor socializing.  Florida is also low, due to the other two factors, which are the high previous infection rate reducing uninfected population left over, and the noncounting of PY residents.  Science works from real-world measurements and not from partisan political notions.  Can you get that through your thick head?

No.

He is a True Believer and facts have nothing to do with anything.

Yes I would imagine it was, if it made all those statistical analyses clear.  (the Healthline article had no paywall)

The problem was with posting it with the implication that the causes of low infection rates were not what that analysis revealed but rather as some amazing RW policy triumph.

And THAT was the false spin that I and others here were poking holes in.
The New York Times was spinning?
LOL!

Make sure everyone who wants it can get it.

You cannot convince those who do not live on the same plane of reality.

The Democrats talk a big talk, but they are not helping the homeless people. Taxes are high and people want to help the homeless and yet our streets are still full of homeless people.

They talk a big talk, but they are not helping the homeless people. Our streets are full of homeless people. And there is a huge shortage of psychiatrists. And more and more money is being allocated to helping the homeless, and yet nothing is being done. The good people who are helping the homeless are private citizens, from what I see, it was all started by private citizens, our Wellness Center, and the Mental Health Association, it was all started by good Americans who made it happen.

The private citizens are helping the homeless people a lot. The government backs them up, but it was the efforts of the people that made the help happen.

And they are sending more funding to the police, but the issue runs deeper than that, we need to help the foster children, and the abused women, and the drug addicts, etc, along with the mentally ill, etc. And we need Crisis Intervention Specialists, etc.

Anyhow, I do not support Nancy Pelosi. Nancy Pelosi is not doing anything to help the people of California, she does not seem to care about the homeless people who line our sidewalks. Nancy has high taxes, with little results from the high taxes.

Salute,

Tony V.

Nooooooo!

It is not politics in America it is the Republican Party.

The GOP has gone full on fascist. It has no platform other than hate, resentment and fear.

White people have to decide if being white is more important than being American.
