You understand you just advanced a good reason to mandate more vaccination, right?
More mandates that are illegal and cause a shortage of health workers?

And why is there a shortage of health care workers in the first place?  Because there are so many sick people, which results from high rates of covid infection, which in turn results from lack of public health mandates like universal vaccination.   Nothing in our legal system bars extraordinary measures to deal with contagious diseases.  That is how smallpox was eradicated.  (See my previous comment on when personal bodily autonomy gives way to demands  of serious public health threats)

Her bottom line: We are closer to civil war than any of us would like to believe. She lays out the argument in detail in her must-read book, How Civil Wars Start, out in January. No one wants to believe that their beloved democracy is in decline, or headed toward war, she writes. But, if you were an analyst in a foreign country looking at events in America, the same way you would look at events in Ukraine or the Ivory Coast or Venezuela, you would go down a checklist, assessing each of the conditions that make civil war likely. And what you would find is that the United States, a democracy founded more than two centuries ago, has entered very dangerous territory.

It is partly a question of numbers, and how much the insurgents are concentrated in geographic areas.  Dana writes...

Bright Line Watch found that 17 percent of those who identify strongly as Republicans support the use of violence to restore Trump to power, and 39 percent favor doing everything possible to prevent Democrats from governing effectively...

Agree these segments are appalling in what they seem to advocate.

I think we could take into consideration that only 25% of Americans are Republican, which would, applied to the quoted stats, quarter them.   A quarter of 17% is then 4.25% of all Americans who support violence on Trump's behalf.  A quarter of 39% is roughly ten percent who favor obstructing Democratic governments.  If we are letting either 4.25% or 10% of the electorate bring down our democratic institutions, then we really will have failed.  It would be fringeocracy.

In this nation the so called centrist Independents who swing with the winds of racism is the bloc where the danger lies.

Yeah....

Christian Evangelicals love Israel more than American Jews... maybe because Evangelicals cannot wait for Israel to be destroyed so they can all get raptured to heaven...
