Run Joe, RUN! ( as in Get  out of town!)

A new poll shows a record number of Americans say they are worse off financially since President Biden took office, the most ever recorded by the poll in its 37 years of asking the question.

According to the ABC News/Washington Post poll,
41% of Americans say they are in a tougher financial situation since the Biden  inauguration in Jan. 2021, while just 16% say they are better off.

When asked about the upcoming 2024 presidential election, 62% of Americans said they would be disappointed or angry of Biden were to be re-elected, while just 36% said they would be enthusiastic or satisfied.

DeSantis gets an apology from Black leaders.

Pierre Rutledge, chair of the Miami Dade Black Affairs Advisory Board, issued a statement on behalf of his board that apologized to DeSantis for a comment made at their Wednesday meeting from a member who said,  Our governor is racist.

We take it to heart when someone uses the term racist, Rutledge said Friday.  Words matter. And so as chair, I must start by saying we want to pull that back. There is nothing wrong with saying we are  sorry.
That is not what we intended to say or be depicted by anyone.
And that is  not the feeling of this board.

The accusations of racism against DeSantis came as the board criticized the his  rejection of an African American history Advanced Placement course( as proposed)  due to content about Black Lives Matter and queer issues. The College Board removed aspects of the course Wednesday that were opposed by DeSantis, and the course will be reevaluated by the Florida Department of Education.

College Board members knowing where their bread may soon be buttered.
Where it has ALWAYS been buttered.
By elected officials in charge of running a state government funded by taxpayers.
State Universities are PUBLIC Universities .
In Florida voters elected DeSantis by a 20 point margin.
He is delivering on his campaign promises.

That is why elections matter, to sort out opposing viewpoints.

And if everyone is allowed, and facilitated, in voting it might sort out and discard the unconstitutional and fascist viewpoints.  What's sad is that some don't recognize crypto fascists, vote for them, and then suffer regrets when the mask comes off.

Which is a good reason to have courts to challenge fascist policies, staffed with impartial and nonpartisan jurists.

Somehow the entire raison d etre  of a democracy has eluded you.

The universities of our states are public. By charter, they are owned and run by the state, forcibly funded by taxpayers, and, by various means, subject to the democratic process.
You can argue against the existence of public universities per se, but, absent such a case, you cannot have it both ways.
As things stand, public universities are accountable to the public and to its  elected representatives and they will remain so even when that public chooses politicians of whom you happen to disapprove.

What is good for the goose is good for the gander, and, in Florida, the gander won the last gubernatorial election by 19 percentage points.

Without a scoreboard we would not have a democracy.
