Waltzing Matilda -
"Once a jolly swagman camped by billabong,"
etc
_________
The Band Played Waltzing Matilda-
"They gave me a tin hat, and they gave me a gun
And marched me away to the war."
etc
para: "and in 5 minutes flat blew us all to hell"
(at Gallipoli Turkey.)
_______________
Australian National Anthen-
'Advance Australia Fair'
"Australians all let us rejoice
for we are one and free.
We've golden soil and wealth for toil,
our home is girt (framed) by sea.
etc
I meant Australia's national anthem in a just world.
And the band plays Waltzing Matilda,
And the old men still answer the call.
But year after year,
Their number gets fewer.
Someday no one will march there at all.
Yes.
March on Anzac Day, 25th April.
Parades all over...not glorifying war, but remembering the fallen and also those who served.
Small towns might only have one veteran.
Descendants march at back of the parades, medals of their ancestors on right breast.
Some, including children, march in the section of the parades of their ancestors.
Depends what each section wishes.
Now, Leftist Labor govt of South Australia state has deleted 'Anzac Day' from its calendar of public holidays...replaced by '25 April'.
Woke is a joke.
