Yep.  "Something Wild".  Great movie.  Demme used their music in "Married to the Mob" as well.

Juice Newton.  Used to think I didn't like country all that much, but then  I'd hear something like Queen of Hearts and recant.  What a sweet sexy voice she had.  And crossed genres easily.

Her dad didn't see her.  That's the worst part.

"Rode hard and put away wet" is an all-time favorite expression of mine.

Me too, though was never quite sure what it meant until I spent time on a ranch in the colder months.  Then I fully understood how something that seemed like minor neglect could actually endanger a horse in a cold stable.

Another share that is, for me, a why didn't I discover this earlier experience.  Possibly the anthem of EfE?

It was a favorite of my father too, an expression from his farming days, like "work him like a rented mule" and "ass like a busted bale of hay." I have no idea the source of either "hotter than a popcorn fart" or "hot snot" though I can attest that the use of the latter can draw incredulous stares from the uninitiated at the dorm lunch room table.

Robyn Hitchcock, solo or.with The Soft Boys is always worth the listen. Hard to find good live versions.

A friend of mine doing his ED rounds while interning at the U of M hospitals once treated one of the members of his back up band for the clap.
