Tony, you make a good case for both the U.S. and Australia putting good people in charge of their government by driving out right-wing creeps, crooks, and nut jobs.

I find ANY predictive polling about Trump to  be hysterical given the number of the previous ones that
were almost all wrong.

How was the 2018 polling?

Most national polling which showed Clinton with a 2-3% lead in the polls right before the election turned out to be correct.  And we now have 2 years of polling since Trump has been elected that has been very consistent.   Could they all end up being wrong?  I guess.  But its unlikely.  Its the outliers (like those that have Trump's approval rate at 49%) that are hysterical.

What is intriguing is what happens if RUSSIA! turns out to be a bust and the dems keep investigating all things TRUMP while the economy continues to grow.

"Russia" has already turned out to be not a bust.  We have evidence of collusion.  A witness (at least one) saying Trump was directly aware of his campaign's contacts with Wikileaks.  And evidence that Trump lied about the Moscow Tower deal, both deceiving voters and giving Putin leverage over a candidate for President of the United States.

I do think the effect of Russiagate is limited on his reelection chances.  The people who think the above adds up to a "bust" are the people who will be voting for Trump anyway.  Even if more evidence or further charges are uncovered.  There is no low that is too low for them.

And the rest of us don't need the Mueller Report to know the kind of person Trump is.

BTW,  Democrats investigating Trump's possible criminality is not a political liability for them.  Saying so is pure propganda coming from people who (for some reason) are desperate for Trump to get a pass.

We have insider info, with a paper trail, that Trump broke the law in a conspiracy that extended into his being "President."  This isn't a fishing expedition.

But here is an idea...why doesn't Trump just release his tax returns and reveal just how baseless these investigations are?

Right.  Looks to me that the Republicans are the ones who are worried.

Montana Gov. Steve Bullock, a Democrat and current chairman of the National Governors Association, struck a note of bipartisan optimism, noting that he had worked with Pence when the vice president was governor of Indiana.
“We’re encouraged, knowing that someone who sat in the governor’s seat continues to reach out to us, both when we agree and when we disagree,” Bullock said at the luncheon at the vice president’s residence. “Together, we can certainly jump-start the wheels of cooperative governing again.”

BULLOCK ALERT!
Calling all Liberal Fascists !
Emergency!

After being taken to liberal fascist woodshed Bullock now says :
“I fundamentally disagree with the policies that he’s(Pence) putting forward and the way that he governs.”
