Michael Daley caught on video warning about Asian immigrants

Michael Daley was caught on video warning voters that Asian immigrants are taking the jobs of young Australians.
“Our young children will flee and who are they being replaced with? They are being replaced by young people from typically Asia with PhDs. There’s a transformation happening in Sydney now where our kids are moving out and foreigners are moving in and taking their jobs,” Mr Daley told the politics in the pub session in Wentworth Falls.

“I don’t want to sound xenophobic, it’s not a xenophobia thing, it’s an economics question.”
The remarks were made in September, when Mr Daley was still deputy opposition leader.

A NSW Labor spokesman said: “Mr Daley was discussing cost of living and housing affordability pressures on young people in Australia’s only global city.”

Imagine! if a Conservative, or Right-wing politician/person had said that.
Imagine! if Pauline Hanson [Independent] had said that...the 'sky would fall in' on her!

Yes, 'economics question' and 'living and housing affordability pressures' when it's the Left/Far left saying it.

......or that something published or spoken publicly is FAKE NEWS

Glad we agree.

When did anyone say that anyone can't question the veracity of a news story??  Not the issue.  The issue has been the right to factcheck what any politician says, and if it proves to be a lie, call him on it.  Without fear of reprisals, slanderous attacks against the reporter, physical threats, or blocking access to a public press conference.

And, this should be obvious, if you accuse a news outlet of fake news, you must provide EVIDENCE if you want to be taken seriously.

Glad we agree.

This isn't about whether or not something is accurate.

The point made by anti-Trumpers is that even if the news IS fake, they have the FREE SPEECH and Trump has to deal with it.  They say Trump, by criticizing, is trying to shut down their rights to this speech.  Not so.  They can say it - and Trump can call it what he wants.

Same leeway must be given from both sides.  You dont lose the right to free speech when elected.

When the “President” incited or encouraged violence against media outlets, calls them “the enemy of the people” and threatens to use tax law to punish the owner of a newspaper he doesn’t like, those are threats against free speech.

You disagree?

It seems to mean different things to different people.
Fine people might fly it as a flag of rebellion...or a flag of 'war'...I haven't studied that as such yet.
I find it evil and scary, hate even seeing one...reminds me of a very black Funnel Web spider ['Atrax Robustus'] that's about to sink its fangs into me and ruin my life.
Little girl in the Sound of Music was correct; ''the black spider flag".

Don't think it's illegal as such, same as in America where people fly them at their houses, but here it's just something that doing so will attract for you "big trouble" you don't really need.
Like the 'national security' or 'anti-terror' cops paying you a visit, for example.

Imagine if Obama had encouraged violence in the way Trump did in his recent Oval office ramblings about "second amendment people" and Bikers for Trump.

In California people come from all over the world and take our jobs. In many cases they are desperate and are willing to work for low pay. And we also have gentrification and high rents.

The answer is to get educated and trained so that you have a chance. When I lived in Malibu, there were two young girls living in our home, one was 8 years old, and one was 15, and the girls knew that if they wanted to live in Malibu when they grew up then they better have a good education, so they studied hard, and they did stuff such as volunteering so they could put it on their college applications.

Also, you can do jobs such as working in real estate, where you earn money as more people move to live here. When people move here, one of the first things that they do is look for a place to live.

Business owners do good as well, as there is a constant supply of educated and trained labor. Some businesses even treat people horribly, and they do not care because when one person quits the job then there are many people behind them who want to work. Many places have a high turn-over on employees because they pay people slave wages and then drive them into the dirt with hard labor, if they quit then they are just replaced by someone else.

You need to be creative, and you need to be lifted up by the inflow of new immigrants, instead of being homeless in your home state while new immigrants take your jobs.

I was homeless for two years here in California, and I was born here, and I also went to community college and to acting school, and I have management experience, etc.

California also lost 500,000 jobs to China.

BUSINESS

California has lost more than half a million jobs to China — more than any other state, report says

----------------------------

But, on the upside, over one hundred and sixty thousand jobs are created in Orange County alone from tourism. So hotels are making money, and restaurants, and Disneyland, etc, etc, etc. And Disneyland now starts employees out at $15.00 per hour. California is being saved by tourism.

Also of note, is that the locals know more people, and have more connections, you have a better network as a local. But, anyone can go to church, and can join Kiwanis, etc, and can make connections here quickly.

Anyhow, lots of new people come to California, so the job market is competitive, and you need to be smart if you want to live in California.

Salute,

Tony V.

Imagine if Obama had encouraged violence in the way Trump did in his recent Oval office ramblings about "second amendment people" and Bikers for Trump.

Trump's most substantive response to the murder of 50 Muslims in NZ was to tweet support for a talk show host who was rebuked for Islamophobic remarks a week earlier.   He followed that by retweeting a purveyor of the pizza-gate conspiracy that led to a shooting.  This morning a spokesperson of his is encouraging Americans to read the white supremacist propaganda put out by the killer....

We are well past "Imagine if Obama..." to illustrate the hypocrisy and enabling being performed by today's GOP.  By the standards of any period in US History this administration is a dark smear on our honor.

We should be ashamed of electing this man.

When Trump says that the courts should shut down Saturday Night Live in his official government statements - which his tweets are - this is not ordinary use of free speech.

When he directs the Attorney General of the United States to look into it, this is not exercise of free speech.

And when he threatens anybody who speaks ill of him, this, too, is not exercise of free speech.
