Doesn't take a genius to see the problem in Venezuela was an incompetent and autocratic leader with a totalitarian vision, and not socialism.   It's not an excuse to point out an empirical fact of failed leadership - it's there in plain sight.
Failed Socialistic leadership?
Say it isn't so.

Funny how ideologues who rant against socialist democracy usually opt to not mention successful instances in Europe, where democratic process hasn't been subverted as it was forcefully in Venezuela.
There are no 'successful' socialist countries anywhere.
Scandinavia says howdy.
LOL

France, Germany, Netherlands, and Italy also send regards.  And the US, since the Woodrow Wilson administration.   People out where I dwell used to joke that farmers and ranchers hated FDR, that socialist bastard, right up until they failed and then they were pounding on his door yelling for assistance.

Yeah, no socialism here! (as Trump sends $25 Billion to farmers to maintain their political support when his protectionist trade policy would otherwise kill their business.)

Trump's been campaigning, instead of governing, since January 2017.   Everyone whose not in the deplorable basket is bored senseless.

White supremacists marching to confront anti-Trump protesters at his rally while Republicans claim to be scandalized by AOC calling their concentration camps concentration camps.

The beauty of using "socialism" as a pejorative is that the word means whatever Red chooses it to mean.

If only they made dictionaries and encyclopedias that precisely defined words so that we understood "socialism" doesn't mean "Marxist dictatorship."

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration on Wednesday completed one of its biggest rollbacks of environmental rules, replacing a landmark Obama-era effort that sought to wean the nation’s electrical grid off coal-fired power plants and their climate-damaging pollution.

Environmental Protection Agency chief Andrew Wheeler, a former coal industry lobbyist, signed a replacement rule that gives states leeway in deciding whether to require efficiency upgrades at existing coal plants.

Wheeler said coal-fired power plants remained essential to the power grid, something that opponents deny. “Americans want reliable energy that they can afford,” he said at a news conference. There’s no denying “the fact that fossil fuels will continue to be an important part of the mix,” he said.

Sort of weird to roll back rules that promote more efficient coal plants.  Greater efficiencies would allow us to use coal longer and give the industry another way to brag about the good job they're doing.

The American coal industry knows it has 3-5 years left at maximum in anything like its current scale.

The Emoluments and Bribery that went into this decision, along with the Emoluments and Bribery that drove the concentration camp contracts will become their own lurid articles of impeachment.

You could really feel the meth in the room at that Orlando Klan rally last night.

Only by about 8 million votes. The 2020 Democratic nominee will do significantly better.

The trick will be to launch trump, like a fire boat into the republican senatorial campaigns at anchorage, taking the bulk of that ill fated fleet to the bottom with him.

Not all that simplistic

Obama overreached - but was re-elected for it.

If they were willing to purchase enough golf rounds at Mar Lago, the asbestos and lead paint industries could make similar comebacks. That’s part of our reward if he gets a second term.
