You must be paying too much attention to that stopped clock at CNN. The Bill was negotiated by Chuck Schumer and Steve Mnuchin. It was headed to bipartisan approval last weekend until SCHUMER put on the brakes to appease the AOC nutcases. I’m assuming you are blaming the democrats for any deaths during that delay.

Democrats had to negotiate, in part, for things already prohibited by the Constitution.

It is not Democrats who have put us, as a nation, in that position.  It is the Trump Administration and Republicans in Congress who have fully demonstrated that they will conduct zero oversight.

Sorry, was it Nancy or Senate Republicans that were holding up the stimulus bill because it was too generous to unemployed low-wage workers?

Deal was agreed to.  Rug was pulled out - not by Senate Republicans, smart guy -

Deal was agreed to and will get a vote on Friday.

Smarter than you guy was right.

We are a GREAT nation, doing GREAT things.  Those that die - it will be quite sad - but it will be from the VIRUS - not any lack of anything, not by the absence of staff in China last fall.

You lie.

It's that simple.

We are a GREAT nation, doing GREAT things.

America was a great nation.  It's gone off the rails this century.  Starting with the response to 9/11 and the pointless, horrible illegal destruction of Iraq.  And the further concentration of wealth and war on unions and working class, which the New Dems had a hand in as they too became a corporate party under Clinton.  Then one party became anti-science, conspiracy theorists and openly racist.  And openly sabotaged the President and country for 8 years.  Culminating in Donald Trump actually becoming president.  And insisting that anything he disagrees with is fake news, and the media is the enemy of the people.  Sowing confusion so the scared and faithful could feel safe cocooning in their partisan news bubble.

The US continues to waste its treasure on weapons and wars, and not invest in its people and future.  Hell, Trump actually ran on the platform that America had lost its way and wasn't great anymore.   I think the culture has also really decayed and become decadent -- drugs, tattoos, guns, obesity, cartoonish sexuality.  America has seriously lost its way.

Look at the covid-19 response, just buffoonery and selfishness and unpreparedness and a lack of seriousness from top to bottom, excluding medical workers.   There's a reason China is getting the all-clear and the US will pass China in number of infected soon, and likely deaths thereafter.

There's been a long decline in the US.  Some real self-inflicted wounds, such as Iraq and the Bush Depression.  The lack of adequate health care for all, the failure to have a reasonable social safety net, the war on unionization and the demonization of the poor.  Europe has done a world better on these basic issues, and people live more comfortable lives with less stress and anxiety.  America is exceptional only in the way it combines wealth and cruelty.

No lies spoken...

I think they are great at what they do - not letting even a national crisis stand in their way.

It will be saddest to have to revisit all this in September-November as politicians rehash in order to sway voters.

Fact: Voters in November have the right to debate and evaluate their leaders as measured by their ability to respond to a life-threatening crisis.

But kiidcarter8 isn't here to debate with facts.

Josh wouldnt answer but do you believe in studies done on rhesus monkeys?

More bullshit.

Lie about yourself, Kid. Don't lie about me.

You didn't respond to my answer. I posted a study done on rhesus monkeys.

But I don't trust every study done on rhesus monkeys for the same reason I don't trust every study done on humans.

And when a lying asshole like you asks a generic question without a specific piece to it, it is almost always a trick, not a serious inquiry.

Senate bill passes.
Now Nancy gets a chance to fuck the poor.

Sorry, was it Nancy or Senate Republicans that were holding up the stimulus bill because it was too generous to unemployed low-wage workers?
Apparently you were okay with firing workers then having the rest of us give them a huge pay increase to stay home?

What was the final vote after correcting the mathematical error?
96-0.

The Atlantic article Factorn posted is a must read,  especially the last part about what goes into creating a vaccine for a completely novel kind of virus.   It's not a standard flu vaccine,  so it will take longer.

What is promising when discussing the coming vaccine is that the virus hasn't yet mutated to the point where a new shot will need to be given each year.  Hopefully, that is.

(a) The 1918 Pandemic did not have its major change until the thing had been kicking around for at least 6 months, possibly as long as a year. Then it shifted from "merely" deadly to catastrophic, to going through a 100 deaths a day in a single location. To killing 600,000 in October of 1918 when in May through August they hadn't bothered counting because the numbers were just not that high.

(b) I am deleting your spreading of false medical treatment.

Should Trump have stopped flights from China - and then from Europe - sooner than he did?

Discuss.

Thanks

Like I said - promising......... and hopefully.

Your response was informative - and as usual toward the extreme negative.

So, anything more to say on remdesivir and those monkeys?  What do you imagine the results were?  Do you believe in the science of such a study - or just the science that is convenient to where you lean?

“You don’t make the timeline. The virus makes the timeline,” says Dr. Anthony Fauci on when coronavirus restrictions could be lifted. “...You have got to go with what the situation on the ground is... you need the data.”

Or as Dr. Fauci said, "The virus makes the timeline."

He also noted that it's still accelerating in much of the country, so it is premature to be discussing when one is ending the restrictions.

Barton - please - greater level of civility is called for here

Are you saying that using anti-malaria drugs for this purpose will take the drugs AWAY from those needing it to combat malaria/other maladies?

No.  I apologize - I didnt read anything of the sort - if you had posted it or a link to the info.

Resubmit if you would like.
