Re where the fuck was the blue wave
This is my opinion-not a fact, for those who are easily confused.
IMO the
-idiotic idea-propaganda of "Police Defunding" (this was both a self-inflicted wound and Repubs lieing about it)
-the Repubs portraying Dems as far-left socialists
-the murder and ensuing civil unrest in Philly in late October just days from the election
all probably played a large part in the Dems not getting the big blue wave many had anticiapted.
and some natural ticket-splitting to balance the anti-Trump votes were a part of it as well.
As discussed in this forum earlier this year, the strategy for the dems should have been to "go smart" versus "go big".
Stay away from social programs (medicare for all, free college, defund the police, green new deals etc) and economic reforms, or political reforms, so big as to scare away indy or potentially dem-leaners. As posted WBW we are a 51-49 country.
stick to controlling corona virus, economic stimulus for the cities, small business and middle-class, infrastructure for jobs, eaffirm O-care in the midst of the pandemic, and and affirmation of the EPA to combat global warming should have been it.
Don't scare the shit out of the moderate middle to lean the wrong fucking way.
But the big tent party with so many voices has a tendency to shoots itself in the foot and sometimes the head.
