Biden’ s Cabinet nominations aren’t sitting too well with Nancy Pelosi, either.

Sources confirmed to Fox News on Thursday that Biden planned to ask Rep. Deb Haaland, D-N.M., to become Secretary of the Interior which would make her the first Native American to do so if she is confirmed by the Senate.

But it would reduce the dem majority in the House to 219(  Biden also tapped Reps. Marcia Fudge, D-Ohio, and Cedric Richmond, D-La., for separate roles in the administration.)
That would leave the dems just one above the majority of 218.
Heavily Dem districts,  which means they'll be replaced by Dems.   So the headache will be brief.
LOL!
Not until after the new Congress is formed which means Nancy has no margin if a few of the moderate dems
vote her out as Speaker.

I have no problem with moderate Dems voting out Pelosi.  She has become a focus of factional conflict in the party, and polarizes the other party to a degree which could become counterproductive.
It won't matter who the speaker is. Repos would mount the same type of "Socialist Radical Leftist" smear campaign if Jesus Christ was the Democratic Speaker of the House.

Pelosi has done a good job as speaker. There is a reason Red is so eager to see her out. Which won't happen except in his wet dreams. There was no opposition to her in the caucus.

Hi, Boz.  Hope you are recovered or -ing okay.  As the rest of my post indicated, I believe she was quite competent and don't seriously see a "moderate's coup" or the like.  I entirely agree that Jesus Christ would be seen as a Socialist Radical Leftist by the GOP in its current hideous form.  The reason I can see a possible upside in another speaker is that there is, sadly, a contingent of Repubs who will hyperventilate and reach for their crucifixes a bit less if the Speaker happens to not be from The People's Republic of California and a former mayor of Sodomytown.  Maybe I'm an optimist, but I can see some of the GOP who cowered in Trump's shadow becoming a little more open to bipartisanship if that shadow goes away.

Where was their bipartisanship before Trump?

To the GOP compromise means total capitulation.

My opinion of Pelosi is irrelevant to the situation the House now faces.
She did predict a blue wave in Congressional elections that was becalmed by the voters.
So the the dem majority in the previous Congress of 38 is now down to 10.
If Biden taps 3dems for his Cabinet the dem total will be 219 until replacements are found which will be after House leadership is decided.
The recent Caucus vote keeping her as Speaker was from the 2018-20  session and Pelosi was unopposed.
The new Speaker election will be a vote of the ENTIRE House.  Two years ago 15 democrats did not support Pelosi.

Yeah, that was before she started regularly spanking your boy.

Joe Wilson being down with the Covid is the biggest recent improvement in the House. May he never return to politics.

He’s lying.

A ( hopefully)good sign towards bipartisanship in the House.

The House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee on Thursday voted to seat Rep. Kathleen Rice on a coveted committee over her New York colleague Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in the latest example of House Democrats bucking the firebrand who represents the Bronx and Queens.
The Energy and Commerce Committee handles some of the most critical legislation in the House, from the environment to health care to nuclear facilities. Its site says that it "has the broadest jurisdiction of any authorizing committee in Congress."

Sounds like someone is on the edge of panic.

Sydney...virus free for 14 days...is now alive with the US strain.
Dumb state govt didn't put int'l air crews and their plane passengers into space suits on the planes, tie them to trolleys as they left the planes, wheel them onto special trucks, and wheel them into their hotel quarantine rooms and shut the doors.
The rooms then guarded by armed cops ready to shoot.
The govt was trusting, and inefficient, totally stoopid.
A dozen air crew from South America left their "self quarantine" accommodation... went shopping and visiting
places.
They've each been fined $1000.
A bus driver caught the virus while driving passengers to their quarantine accommodation ...
ridiculous.

Pandemics do have a way of revealing all the stupidity cracks in human civilization.  Sorry to hear that.  Be well.

I stay home 99% of the time.
I no longer live in Sydney but are within 'virus reach' as people travel for the holidays.
The South Americans have tested negative so far.
US strain has come in somehow, in some way other than the bus driver who tested positive..
Foreign air crews are suspected to be the culprits.
Now, instead of being spread around 25 or 26 different locations for quarantining, they are going to be housed in 2 hotels, and guarded by the cops.
Which should've been done in the first place.
Christmas is "ruined".
The holidays are "ruined".
Families are "ruined".
Businesses that had just re-opened and were expecting good patronage over Christmas now have to close again..."ruined".

And Trump is nowhere to be seen.

Your President always does Putin's bidding.

Given that Trump has failed to mention in any of his communications this week the massive cyberattack that is suspected to have been carried out by Russian hackers, we have this: Pentagon halts Biden transition briefings https://www.axios.com/pentagon-biden-transition-briefings-123a9658-4af1-4632-a6e6-770117784d60.html

He now has COVID-19.

He deleted the tweet.

Speaking of republicans, the insurrectionists among them should be mindful that their calls to use federal troops to put down insurrection applies by far the best to them. If the keep sowing they will reach a point where they start reaping bigly.
