Operation Warp speed should have had distribution figured out.

There should have been a plan in place to get the vaccine out ASAP.

The drug companies did their job, they got an approved drug ready for Americans.

And it only took a day for Trump Co to fuck-up delivery.

Most inept corrupt motherfucker ever,

SSDD

They had one, at one point, as far as I can tell.

I don't know what changed, though I can imagine.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/12/18/politics/supreme-court-census-undocumented-immigrants/index.html

I disagree with the mostly predictable 6-3 ruling that because which don't know exactly which people Trump plans to exclude, therefore there is no reason for the case to go forward at this time.

I am glad they explicitly left in place the "permission" to bring the case back to them, when and if the Trump administration is ready to act on its plan.

And the question of whether the census can be completed in time for reapportionment can happen before Jan 20 is a very good one, though you can bet that if Trump is paying attention to anything in government, it would be that.

And that last "if" is huge, as well.

A major snow storm over much of the country and individual state control did most of the damage. Overall the distribution, considering the strained circumstances, was remarkably efficient.

Sydney...virus free for 14 days...is now alive with the US strain.
Dumb state govt didn't put int'l air crews and their plane passengers into space suits on the planes, tie them to trolleys as they left the planes, wheel them onto special trucks, and wheel them into their hotel quarantine rooms and shut the doors.
The rooms then guarded by armed cops ready to shoot.
The govt was trusting, and inefficient, totally stoopid.
A dozen air crew from South America left their "self quarantine" accommodation... went shopping and visiting
places.
They've each been fined $1000.
A bus driver caught the virus while driving passengers to their quarantine accommodation ...
ridiculous.

News Item

A federal death row inmate in Indiana, who’s set to be executed shortly before President-elect Joe Biden takes office in January, has tested positive for coronavirus, officials said.

Will his death be counted as a COVID-19 death?
No,  why would it?   His death will be cardiac and respiratory arrest due to a massive dose of potassium chloride and Pavulon.

Put a wee bonnet on your sea lion and ram it up...etc.

Then how does it happen that 40 per cent of last week’s deaths in Denver counted as Covid-19 occurred in people with gunshot wounds?

Source not provided for this wild assertion. Please ignore this post, everyone. Thank you.

Only too happy to oblige.

Though it's worth noting that some people who enter trauma units with gunshot wounds contract covid there, or were already in the incubation phase, and thus perished from injuries that otherwise wouldn't have been fatal had their system not been severely weakened by the virus.  Not that a closed mind would ever entertain such thoughts.

Biden’ s Cabinet nominations aren’t sitting too well with Nancy Pelosi, either.

Sources confirmed to Fox News on Thursday that Biden planned to ask Rep. Deb Haaland, D-N.M., to become Secretary of the Interior which would make her the first Native American to do so if she is confirmed by the Senate.

But it would reduce the dem majority in the House to 219(  Biden also tapped Reps. Marcia Fudge, D-Ohio, and Cedric Richmond, D-La., for separate roles in the administration.)
That would leave the dems just one above the majority of 218.
Heavily Dem districts,  which means they'll be replaced by Dems.   So the headache will be brief.
LOL!
Not until after the new Congress is formed which means Nancy has no margin if a few of the moderate dems
vote her out as Speaker.

I have no problem with moderate Dems voting out Pelosi.  She has become a focus of factional conflict in the party, and polarizes the other party to a degree which could become counterproductive.  She was a competent speaker, but it may time to turn the job over to someone younger and less polarizing.

Are you surprised at my lack of tears, sir?

The U.S. government would save about $2.6 billion if President-elect Joe Biden halts construction on the border wall project on his first day in office, according to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers estimates reviewed by The Washington Post.

I haven't heard how China is dealing with int'l flight crews, but my guess is carefully and strictly.

I've talked to a few foreigners who have returned to China in the past few months (since Sept).  And they were subject to a 14 day quarantine at a gov't-run quarantine hotel.  And things were pretty strict.  They weren't even allowed to get food deliveries, which could have been left outside their doors by hotel staff.  Basically it was stay in your room for 14 days.

I'm guessing there is an airport hotel that has been designated for flight crew only.  And they aren't allowed to go anywhere, except to shuttle buses back to the airport.

China guidance:
Quote
A section on PPE advises cabin crew on flights to and from high-risk countries to wear "medical masks, double-layer disposable medical gloves, goggles, disposable hats, disposable protective clothing, and disposable shoe covers."

The next sentence reads: "It is recommended that cabin crew members wear disposable diapers and avoid using the lavatories barring special circumstances to avoid infection risks."

Quote
Boeing successfully applied for a patent on a "self-cleaning lavatory" that would use UV light to clean 99.9% of bathroom germs after every use.

It won't matter who the speaker is. Repos would mount the same type of "Socialist Radical Leftist" smear campaign if Jesus Christ was the Democratic Speaker of the House.

Pelosi has done a good job as speaker. There is a reason Red is so eager to see her out. Which won't happen except in his wet dreams. There was no opposition to her in the caucus.

No.

That is not what happened, Luee, though it is a pretty convenient excuse.

The lack of distribution occurred prior to the storm.

Hi, Boz.  Hope you are recovered or -ing okay.  As the rest of my post indicated, I believe she was quite competent and don't seriously see a "moderate's coup" or the like.  I entirely agree that Jesus Christ would be seen as a Socialist Radical Leftist by the GOP in its current hideous form.  The reason I can see a possible upside in another speaker is that there is, sadly, a contingent of Repubs who will hyperventilate and reach for their crucifixes a bit less if the Speaker happens to not be from The People's Republic of California and a former mayor of Sodomytown.  Maybe I'm an optimist, but I can see some of the GOP who cowered in Trump's shadow becoming a little more open to bipartisanship if that shadow goes away.
