“The national media have focused on discriminatory changes in voting policy and practice, such as the increase in photo identification requirements, purges from voting rolls, and reductions in rates of early voting. Yet poll closures have received little attention, even though they are a common and particularly pernicious way to disenfranchise voters of color. Decisions to shutter or reduce voting locations are often made quietly and at the last minute, making pre-election intervention or litigation virtually impossible. Closing polling places has a cascading effect, leading to long lines at other polling places, transportation hurdles, denial of language assistance and other forms of in-person help, and mass confusion about where eligible voters may cast their ballot. For many people, and particularly for voters of color, older voters, rural voters, and voters with disabilities, these burdens make it harder — and sometimes impossible — to vote.”

Quite the contrary. I always criticized his trade and tariff policies.

LOL. That’s it, thanks.  Just the tariffs.
Trade and tariffs. Trump and Hillary offered no choices, just echoes.

Speaking of clowns Herr Mustache has leaped off the sinking ship.

Trump is  his own communications director, his own Secretary of State, his own National Security Advisor, etc. and as Rex Tillerson said, he’s a fucking moron.

The investigations are ramping up, he’s imploding and the guys who thought they could control him are jumping ship.

This festering boil of a political party is about erupt.

Call it Trump’s Law: The more it looks like President Trump is in political trouble on the economy, the louder he’ll crank up the dial on his hate-mongering.

The confluence of two new events neatly captures this dynamic: Trump’s rally in North Carolina on Monday night at which he fearmongered relentlessly about immigrants and socialists, and the release of a new Post-ABC News poll showing Trump’s numbers on the economy slipping perilously.

The new Post-ABC News poll paints an ugly picture for Trump. His approval rating now sits at 38 percent, a drop of 6 points since June. Approval of his handling of the economy has slipped 5 points, to 46 percent, with 47 percent disapproving.

And while 56 percent rate the economy positively, 60 percent expect a recession in the next year. An abysmal 35 percent approve of Trump’s handling of trade relations with China, vs. 56 percent who disapprove — even as 60 percent are concerned that Trump’s trade war will hike prices for them.

Perhaps he stopped at Turnberry to refuel and play a few rounds.

I haven't missed him.

Trump already calling the polling Fake News, which is dumb because a) its a respected pollster and he has no reason to actually think its inaccurate and b) if his internal polling really is "the best ever" then he needs to explain how it is that NC-09, a +11 Trump district in 2016, is now expected to be a nail-biter.

I don't know how likely a recession is before the election, but I do think a slow-down is likely.  We may already be seeing it, judging by the last jobs numbers.  Where are the Economy voters then?  Huge tax cuts that did little to nothing to juice the economy but blew a hole in the deficit?  An environmental deregulation agenda that goes further than even the industries being deregulated want (while they do nothing to improve their bottom lines) Tariffs that are tipping manufacturing sectors toward recession and may be doing permanent damage to our farmers?

A slowdown could mean we are looking at a "president" seeking reelection with 35% approval.  McConnell would deserve every ounce of the down-ballot blow-back should that happen.

The cynic in me has always felt that a substantial number of those in Congress (and certainly the one in the oval office) beating the pro-life drum really don't care a bit about the issue.
You do not seriously mean to imply that a man who called himself strongly pro choice right up until the day he ran for President as a Republican and who paid for at least 3 abortions personally* is lying about being pro life and is instead a cynical and shameless opportunist? My faith in mankind is shattered. Shattered, I tell you. Shattered.

Bernie Sanders, on Climate Change, says “ we must listen to the scientists”!
But at the CNN Town Hall a week ago Sanders dismissed any thoughts of using nuclear power as a renewable source despite assurances from “ SCIENTISTS”! that is the best option and storage of its waste is safe.

But Elizabeth Warren took the prize as the chicken little of the forum calling Climate Change the
EXISTENTIAL CRISIS Yikes! Warren is a millionaire 12 times over and Professor at Harvard
( ok she teaches  Law not English but lawyers have to know the meanings of words).
Climate Change doesn’t even rise to the level of existential threat which is not to say it poses no problems. No matter the wailings of Josh and his Twitter morons our existence on earth is not threatened by “ climate change”. Our quality of life may change but not our existence.

In reality climate change is a smokescreen put up by the left to hide its real agenda:
to turn our economy and political system to socialism and away from the status quo of capitalism.
