Segregation and apartheid America is an evolution of enslavement.

Certainly.  So in a sense compensation for the illegal discrimination of segregation covers slavery and the full spectrum of the black experience in America.

But yeah, let’s MARKET fairness to the nation that replaced Barack Obama with Donald Trump.

Which is why I'd focus more on policies that benefit the poor rather than more direct racial issues.  My primary proposal would be to transfer ownership of public housing apartments to the occupants.  The gov't doesn't need to be a landlord and monitor poor people's lives.  The poor would get significant capital.  (I'd probably charge them a nominal fee -- a few thousand dollars for those who can pay -- and a restriction on re-selling for perhaps the first 3 to 5 years).

I'd also end Drug Prohibition, which has imprisoned huge numbers of poor people for no reason, and enriched criminal gangs in the US and abroad.  And look into releasing any in jail for simple possession offenses.

I'd expand Obamacare by allowing any who want to join Medicare to do so. Probably best to enroll everyone in Medicare unless they opt out by showing they proof of other insurance.  Simple, everyone has health insurance.

I'd look into ways that federal law can make voting rights easier.  that is, to counter the GOP attempts to make it harder to vote.

I'd also talk up regaining control of the Supreme Court, and hammer on the stolen seat.  Highlighting the bad decisions the conservative court has made the past decade or two.

More minor, I'd advocate a law mandating that airlines can't charge for one piece of luggage.  And I'd clean up the bank and credit card industry.  Doesn't everyone complain about airlines and banks cheating folks,  Offer to fix this,  (And yes I know poor people aren't terribly concerned with flying or credit cards, but those are my middle class offerings).`

I unfortunately believe we won’t get a truly progressive president, House, or Senate until white voters stop balking at sharing with non-white people.
Say what? The essence of Capitalism is sharing. And it has nothing to do with the color of anyone’s skin.

The essence of capitalism is concentration of wealth,  maximizing profit,  not sharing it fairly.
LOL.
That is a definition of Socialism or any of its permeations. Wealth concentrated in a central government, monarchy, etc to be shared only with its chosen people.

Henry Ford made black model T’s ; he got rich and ordinary people got a car they could afford.
Sam Walton made shopping affordable to rural folk and then to all of us.
Ray Kroc gave us cheap hamburgers and revolutionized the restaurant business.
Google founders opened the internet to the world. Steve Jobs gave us unprecedented computing power we could carry in our pockets. (And take beautiful pictures)
The money the rich invest or save is available to all of us to build a home or start a business, or chase a dream.

That is sharing in a way you obviously don’t understand.
And probably never will.

That Sam Walton line is so hilariously skewed that I have to thank you for using that example.   Shopping didn't suddenly become affordable with WalMart.   Walton didn't distribute wealth,  indeed he pushed down wages and worker rights to collective bargaining,  and drove many Main Street businesses under so that fewer small business owners in the small towns could spend their profits within their towns,  instead shipping money out of the town to a corporation elsewhere.  Workers on the old Main St.  had to take jobs at the Mart with lower pay,  worse treatment by management, now had to travel many miles to work,  and had little job security.  Or they simply became unemployed, maybe had to move away.   Then,  to cap it all,  Walmart filled its shelves with cheaply made junk that doesn't hold up,  ensuring their model centered on profit over customer satisfaction or quality.

The classic WalMart story, I've heard so many times in various forms,  is of buying a cheap shovel there,  the plastic handle cracks and then breaks in a year,  and then you go back to the old hardware on Main St. where you talk to an actual person who knows something about quality merchandise, you pay TWICE AS MUCH FOR A SHOVEL BUT IT LASTS YOU TWENTY YEARS.

Your other examples:

Google didn't open the internet to the world.   They did make taking your private information and commodifying it without your permission much easier,  though.   Yay.

Henry Ford?   One of the guys who conspired with petroleum and rubber companies to run electric streetcar lines out of business in American cities and replace them with gridlock,  more smog,  and a million baking seas of asphalt parking lots?   Riiiight.

Believe me,  I understand the "sharing" of the rich only too well.  As does anyone who runs the figures on how wealth has grown increasingly concentrated in the top few percent and the wage gap deepened.

capitalism as a platform for sharing?

thats an interesting definition I'm not sure captures what capitalism is.

IMO capitalism is an economic system designed to maximize profits for the owner of capital.

Now it should result in an expansion of wealth, and could lead to sharing, but sharing is not the essence of capitalism.

I think Scandinavians would be very amused that their nations, among the world's most egalitarian, have a system that Red describes as

"...Wealth concentrated in a central government, monarchy, etc to be shared only with its chosen people."

That has to be the most Orwellian black-is-white lie I've heard here.

Sam Walton didn’t distribute wealth he gave consumers choices in lower prices and let them retain wealth.  Hardware stores still exist because consumers can afford more expensive shovels from the money they save at Walmart. Les Wexner( who admired Walton) grew up working in his Mom and Pop’s Department Store in Dayton, Ohio. After college graduation he decided that he couldn’t grow the family business against the Macy’s of the world. So he specialized in women’s’ sporting goods and started the Limited. He is a billionaire many times over. That’s what happens in capitalism.

Google, of course, opened the internet to world. And there are numerous ways to protect one’s privacy while using it.

Ford didn’t invent the automobile, he found a way to manufacture it at an affordable price. Perhaps you preferred life on horseback and the unhealthiness and stench of manure-lined streets.

Miranda Devine: Racism is a convenient excuse for Meghan’s poor behaviour

Despite the royal family and British public welcoming her with open arms, Meghan Markle seems intent on blaming everyone but herself for her and Harry’s recent misery, writes Miranda Devine.

There’s a ring of truth to the stories out of Britain that Meghan Markle wanted to take Prince Harry home to live in Los Angeles – but only after Donald Trump leaves office.

The story is unsourced but it’s believable because of the cliched woke sensibility that B-grade actor Meghan has imported into the British royal family.
It’s the sort of politics you pick up with your designer knock-offs at Zara, requiring zero thought but a lot of attitude.

Before she married Harry, the 38-year-old American bi-racial divorcee labelled Trump a vile misogynist and vowed to move to Canada if he won the 2016 election.

When the Queen hosted a banquet last June for the American president at Buckingham Palace, Meghan and Harry were conspicuous no-shows, using Meghan’s maternity leave as an excuse, even though she attended other events at the time and seemed perfectly fine.

The term “progressive” in the pair’s Megxit statement – as in their hoped-for “progressive new role within this institution” – says it all.
They want to be free to use Harry’s royal pedigree to champion the wokest of woke causes, like the vacuous Hollywood celebrity set Meghan aspires to join. This attitude, of course, is in stark contrast to the Queen who always has remained neutral on contentious political and social issues in order to preserve the monarchy’s prestige as a symbol of unity rather than division.

Meghan is simply an attention-seeking social climber unwilling to subsume her ego to the institution of the monarchy or play second fiddle to her sister-in-law, the impeccable future Queen, Kate Middleton.

Stories that Meghan hasn’t spoken to Kate for six months and has alienated staff with unreasonable demands are unsourced so need to be taken with a grain of salt. But there is an embarrassing video clip doing the rounds in which we can see for ourselves the power she exerts over Harry.
