About those states who have banned plastic grocery bags.

Researchers at the University of Arizona and Loma Linda University surveyed grocery shoppers and randomly tested their reusable bags. “Large numbers of bacteria were found in almost all bags and coliform bacteria in half,” they wrote in their 2011study, funded in part by the American Chemistry Council and published in Food Protection Trends. No wonder, since the majority of shoppers said they rarely or never washed them

Um... yeah.

The reason canvas tote bags used for groceries have coliform bacteria is because most cars that carry family pets will have some coliform bacteria.
And so what?
Quote
I am more inclined towards vendor "loop" programs where the maker of the plastic bag will recycle it through the stores its used at.   If we don't want plastic nanoparticles in our oceans and soil, then we ought to do whatever it takes including cleaning up the Five Gyres and maybe even washing our vegetables if we took them home in a canvas bag.   Radical,  I know.
LOL.

"Well, okay, he was incompetent before but he won't be from now on."

Seems everything has been pulled together beautifully

That all wrath is thrown at Trump and little at China and little at just the randomness is alarming.

Oh, fuck that!

This is what you motherfuckers do. Talk shit until you get power and then proceed to break everything you can get your hands on.

Democrats come in to stop the bleeding and GOP fight tooth and nail against helping the people but insist on saving big money folks from themselves.

All the while decrying the “finger pointing” and “politicization” of the crisis they created the Repubs then blame the Dems for making the hard decisions to fix the shit the greedy bastards fucked up in the first place. Rinse repeat.

I thought Trump said if the black guy could do the job then he could do it better. Evidence?

Naw, he FUCKED UP and you need to OWN THAT SHIT. Help fix it or get out of the way but no way y’all walking on this one.

We as a nation and a world will get through this Coronavirus crisis and it will be transformative.

When all is said and done this country needs to form a Truth and Reconciliation system and maybe we won’t need to bring out the guillotines.

You are so full of shit. You have been telling us what an amazing job Trump has been doing all the way along, yourself. You have complained that I misrepresented the situation when I reported what was being done wrong.

You have quoted again and again, even just a few minutes ago, about how Trump has done all the right things.

And now you want us to stop pointing out how Trump lies about his "10 out of 10" performance in handling this crisis?

Amazing, Kid. Simply amazing.

Just stop, yourself.

So much for "stop," Kid. You are still lying.

Masks being ordered by the government are still tardy. Tests being distributed got pulled together way too late - there are still people who cannot get them.

It took until Monday of this week for the president to stop misleading the country, which has caused a ton of people to doubt the restrictions are necessary.

And you want to claim "everything has been pulled together beautifully.

Such a piece of work.

Trump has no responsibility, just ask him. "We know," says Kid. "He's on it."

Professionalism from top to bottom.

McEntee's return to the White House has roiled the administration with some officials criticizing the former Trump campaign staffer for what they see as an effort to stock the administration with his friends, including at least three college seniors. McEntee has not responded to questions on stories touching on the hires.

Blame China for not warning us!!!!!

US warns citizens in China to avoid animals and sick people over mystery pneumonia virus

Quote
Americans travelling in China should avoid animals and contact with sick people as the country grapples with a mystery pneumonia outbreak, the US embassy in China said Tuesday.

The viral illness was first reported last week in Wuhan, a central Chinese city with a population of over 11 million, and has since grown to at least 59 cases.

Chinese health officials have ruled out a resurgence of the highly contagious severe acute respiratory syndrome virus, which killed hundreds more than a decade ago, after fears spread online that it had made a comeback.

“Be aware and practise usual precautions,” said the health alert issued by the US embassy, which urged citizens to seek medical care “right away” if they felt sick after travelling to Wuhan.

Oh, blame the Chinese.

Or blame random chance for our failure to be prepared. For Trump's firing the pandemic team. For Trump's refusing the WHO masks.

Curse the Heavens for this random chance that has left Trump still alive, while so many Americans are and will be dead from his refusal to behave presidential until Monday, March 16th.
