A reporter reminded President Donald Trump that he held campaign rallies in February and March. He responded by suggesting he didn't recall these rallies -- and saying that hasn't left the White House in "months" except for a coronavirus-related trip to Virginia in late March.

New record high in number of deaths, 7% above the old one and more than 25% higher than the "peak" that was predicted for almost a week ago.

If we get lucky and today is the peak and the next 9 days are no worse than the last 9 then we will finish April with 65,000 dead, and ultimately as little as 90k. That would be a blessing, no matter how awful it is as a raw number of dead.

Unfortunately, while there are reasons to see the total cases beginning to level off and maybe deaths, too - maybe - I don't think the latter group has peaked.
