A new poll by Suffolk University, The Boston Globe, and WGBH News found that Mass. residents remain remarkably steadfast in their support of the difficult isolation measures to slow the spread of the deadly coronavirus, buoyed by faith in their neighbors and optimism about the future.

In most states, the citizenry remains more in favor of the safety measures than in relieving them.

fuck, you can start with massive incarceration and taking away voting rights of prisoners; move on to reducing polling places in black areas; requiring hoops to jump through such as picture ID; pruning voter lists intended to shake off poor people who tend to move more, etc.

White prisoners can't vote either, right?

Just checking.

Have a seat, asshole.

Whatever the numbers,  Needs and Kid had this vote suppression debate last year,  Needs posted enough evidence to prove general relativity,  the big bang theory,  and natural selection combined,  and it didn't make a dent.   Don't let the trolls grind you down.

On epidemiology - places with low numbers reported are often hinterlands where anything like that takes longer to reach.   They will peak much later,  possibly when tourist seasons pick up and people from hot spots start their summer road trips.   Places like Wyoming, and my Black Hills,  because of very low case numbers,  will attract as "clean" destinations.  If we're lucky,  those travelers won't be virus shedding,  but I wouldn't bet on it.

Equally surprising:

Trump's planning on winding down his task force, because it has become inconvenient for him.

Not because their actual work is done.

The neverending GOP refusal to/inability to govern is ongoing, and still less surprising.

Quote
The U.S. Senate is back in session, but Republican leaders have scheduled zero votes this week on coronavirus-related legislation. Senate Democrats say they will try to force a vote to bring transparency and oversight to the $660 billion 'paycheck protection' program aimed at rescuing small businesses from collapse. Thousands of small business owners have been unable to get loans to keep their employees on payroll, even as dozens of large public companies with CEOs making $1 million or more annually have received loans.

That there's a still a chance and I'd say a pretty good one that he gets re-elected speaks to what a nightmare the Democratic Party has become.

I think you mean the Republican Party.

That’s what happens when you let Russians fuck you.

You still seem to have a Russian dick in your mouth.

If you were also giving hand jobs we wouldn’t have to scroll past so many of your stupid posts.

Maybe Putin can help you with that as he is now your mother and father.

Trump and Company are nothing but a bunch of grifters.

https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2020/04/internal-documents-reveal-team-trumps-chloroquine-master-plan

All bad for the US public, but the silver lining for trump is that in using the entire spring season to push the US Covid death trajectory back up into the millions, a five figure increase in heart failures due to trump recklessly pushing Chloroquine along with a five figure spike in gun homicides and suicides and another in nonfatal shootings will likely get lost in the noise and chaos of this trump depression he has gotten underway.

Oh, so terribly surprising.

Right

So Mr Bright wanted to allow the use of hydroxychloroquine.

But only

-  in a hospital
-  for patients that had tested positive for COVID

Yet patients were also being told to stay away from hospitals even if they think they may have COVID -a s long as they had no extreme breathing troubles

Don't come to the hospital!

OK - but then the ILL cannot access the drug - a drug that Mr Bright is perfectly fine with GIVING TO THE ILL - but only after they are hospitalized.

- whic AGAIN - a great many of the ILL would not BE.

Thus yes - kill the Commander in Chief for wanting to allow access to potentially helpful doses (see anecdotes) - under the care of a personal physician - but outside a hospital setting - BECAUSE THEY (rightfully, correct) DONT WANT HOSPITALS FLOODED.

Disallowing medication is downright cruelty.

Among the many sad stories we hear are I am SURE cases of death after non-treatment.  That's DEATH AFTER NOT BEING TREATED.  Read it again.  That's the truly sad state of this all.

"We need the trials"

Yes.  Of course we do.  In a perfect world.......

This is the furthest thing since the Holocaust from perfect.
