Barr and other top advisers have argued against the hard-line position for some time, warning it could have major political implications if the comprehensive health care law appears in jeopardy as voters head to the polls in November.

Note how in the Trump Administration it is totally normal, and not even notable, that the Attorney General of the United States is shaping legal arguments according to what is most politically expedient for the "president."

Totally normalized corruption.  Just another Wednesday in Trumpworld.

National Nurses Day proclaimed.

Nice, Trump.

Led by the nose.
This has been National Nurse's day and the start of Nurse's week since roughly Florence Nightengale was born. Count on kiid to credit it to Trump.

Biden has come out with a statement on the Georgia case

Doesn't look good for the assailants.

I just hope THIS case gets as much publicity

Why do you hope a murder-suicide gets as much publicity as a murder?

Murder.  Just as grievous.  Sad cases, both.

Sad cases, different issues.

"You don’t have to be a Nobel Prize winner to understand why the House committee that funds health care programs wanted Dr. Fauci to appear at a hearing on coronavirus response,” Hollander said in an emailed statement.

“President Trump already admitted that he blocked Dr. Fauci from testifying for political reasons, and any other comment from the White House is just spin.”

Fauci's absence from the hearing Wednesday drew bipartisan rebuke, with lawmakers voicing their frustration with the decision.

“I want the record to show I joined the chairman urging that Dr. Fauci be allowed to testify here,” Rep. Tom Cole (Okla.), the top Republican on the House Appropriations labor and health subcommittee, said during the hearing.

McEnany was asked Wednesday how the president’s remarks the previous day were consistent with oversight and transparency. The press secretary noted that Fauci would testify before a GOP-led Senate committee later this month and would field questions from both Democrats and Republicans during that appearance.

“Dr. Fauci will be speaking in a week and a half before the Senate, so the notion that he is being blocked is just farcical,” McEnany said.

As Hollander says,  you don't have to be a Nobel Prize winner to see there's no farce in the House committee doing its job.

Today’s Number of the Day presented by Ballotpedia shows that 49% of voters nationwide now fear the economic threat from the coronavirus more than the health threat. Forty-five percent (45%) take the opposite view and are more worried about the health threat. These numbers reflect a significant change over the past month. In late March, by a 55% to 38% margin, voters were more concerned about the health threat...

Decency could be enough.

That's exactly his point

Joe would be the "caretaker president".

Someone needs to take care of you. You have completely botched your continuing education. I have no reason to believe you’ve made any less of a hash of any other aspect of your life.

Caretaker over inept self absorbed asshole president every damn day.

Some people are murdered for jogging while black.   How on God's green earth did these killers walk away with no charges in February, and only now,  because of the video,  is a grand jury convening?   If travesties like this can't be stopped,  there is no hope for this country as the expression of ideals of liberty and justice.   We might as well be a failed state.

Just cause we’re failing now doesn’t mean we can’t pull our grade up if we turn ourselves around and get our act together. Of course that isn’t something that’s really possible nationally for at least the next seven months. It will have to be individuals, municipalities, and states leading the way in the laboratories of progress in search of a tomorrow that lives up to our promise.

It’s definitely time to leave cowardice and spite behind as governing principles, scrapped and repurposed like the coal mines, fracking operations, and hundreds of millions of redundant or completely unnecessary firearms.

I am with you - as are many that you despise (such as Trey Gowdy, interviewed today and asking your exact questiion)

Have you seen the video?   What exactly happened?  Was there a struggle for the gun at the car?
