But "fair and balanced" is the catchphrase for the very much unfair and unbalanced news folks at Fox.

Maybe you just don't like what they're selling.

Yes, what I don't like is that they sell bullshit, while claiming it's news.

And so many more.

They push conspiracies. They promote falsehoods.

The USofA and NY had plenty of time to prepare and guard against the virus.
Trump failed & Cuomo failed.

LA, SF, and CA in general didn't have the enormous outbreaks and danger that NYC succumbed to.  Shanghai a bigger city with less time to prepare had 700 cases and 7 deaths.  Imagine that.

Sure, after he allowed a mega-disaster, Cuomo was involved, empathetic, etc.
It didn't have to go down that way.
And reportedly much of the virus throughout the US arrived via NYC.
Cuomo made a lot of wrong decisions throughout the crisis.
I wouldn't put him in charge of repairing my bicycle.

Bo
Your lack of understanding and/or seeming intentional ignorance of NYC and how it is demographically differnt than other cities (SF, LA) is child-like. And your deflection of facts is disingenuous.

NYC is maybe the most traveled to city in the world, and it was infected for weeks and never knew it until the virus had spread. And then it exploded in a city that is massively populated, densely populated and hugely reliant on mass trasportation, from a huge tri-state region. It had all the ingrediants needed for quick and massive transmission. When the first outbreak was spotted north of NYC the city New Rochele was put in lockdown immediately. But by then it was too late.

Trump's incompetence and idiocy and the Chinese government's dishonesty and knowingly allowing the disease to be exported had far more to do with the disease's spread to NYC than any mistake Cuomo may or may not have made.

Hindsite may be 20/20 but IMO Cuomo provided leadership when there wasc little to be had.

And Cuomo is a handy guy I'm sure he could fix your tricycle.

I've learned a lot more about the George Floyd arrest/murder.
There's a good walk you through the videos and timeline NYTimes video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vksEJR9EPQ8

I'm not sure how rookie the two young cops were, but they were partners with their own police SUV and were the first to respond.  They get Floyd out of his vehicle and into handcuffs with minimal difficulty.

Floyd does look in some distress just being handcuffed and falls to the ground when they try to get him into the police vehicle.  No doubt the police defense lawyers will try to portray Floyd as in bad health and blame that for his death.  While Chauvin wasn't there to see Floyd distressed with the handcuffs and collapsing to the ground.  And no doubt they'll bring up alcohol, drugs, Covid positive any other health issues they can find or claim.

The fact that the two junior officers were on duty together with their own vehicle and responding to calls, certainly weakens their case of being complete powerless rooks.

Chauvin shows up after 9 minutes with Thao.  They are the 3rd police SUV to arrive.  I'm unclear where the 2nd pair is (maybe in the store getting info).  Apparently the first responding rook cops thought they were called to deal with a drunk and disorderly, and were unaware of the counterfeit allegation.

One strange incident. They get Floyd into the vehicle and then Chauvin opens the other door towards the street and drags Floyd out and onto the pavement where he'll soon die.  He was in the vehicle and pulled back out to be dominated and abused and ultimately killed.

The two young policemen were entrusted with full duties.  They kneeled on Floyd's back and legs.  They allowed Chauvin to abuse Floyd for an awfully long time while they assisted.  No wonder the charges against them were relatively strong.

Bo, I find it curious that there were two other people in the car with Mr Floyd, yet I have not heard
anything about their testimony or their explanation about the entire tragedy.

Makes me wonder if the prosecution has something up their sleeves for the trial?

The trials will be 'war'.

NOW, Minnesota/Minneapolis have banned 'choke holds' and 'neck holds' as a form of police restraint.
NOW.
Now that 4 cops who followed their policy have ended up in prison.
Any defence lawyers worth their salt would be running with that, bigtime.

I wish senators were tested the way governors and other executive leaders were.
Would have been a good chance to expose failures and discover true leaders.

Yeah, here are great examples of leadership from Senate Republicans

Yeah, I’m sure Cuomo sat on his hands when Trump shut down Euro travel with no warning and  left thousands of passengers in 5-10 hour lines in customs jammed shoulder to shoulder.

By the time all the staff in the airport services and ground transportation went home to their families who are care provides who work shifts at multiple nursing homes, service industry gigs and the like.

One of kids’ friends, Travis, is a doctor at Elmhurst. His rotation ends there next week.

Cuomo shut-down New Rochelle in early March when the first evidence of the disease became apparent in NY

and he took a lot of shit for it.

Unfortunately with the 2-week incubation period that nobody but the Chinese really were aware of, it was more than enough time for the disease to migrate 20 miles by bus, and train and subway into one of the most densely poplated cities in this country.

Their policy did not include kneeling on necks for nearly 9 minutes (or at all, if I recall correctly).

Their policy did not include looking the other way when somebody was in respiratory distress.

Do, please, remember, that the police, when they described what had happened, neglected to mention that part of things, while claiming he was sick from the moment they took him from the car - and well before any of them had been charged with anything.

Those claims, too, were not "policy."

You keep trying to find a way for Chauvin to squirm out of murder.

I have to wonder why.

Only one did it.
The 4 day and 3 shift rookies questioned their boss' actions.
They could've stopped their boss only by shooting him or bashing him with their guns.

They could've left and driven away, then they'd likely be charged with "not rendering assistance as a man lay dying."
 I'm with the defence lawyer at the bail hearing;
"There's the 18 yr veteran up the front, and my guy with 4 days up the back. I don't know what you're supposed to do as a police officer."

Antifa is not a unified group; it is loose collection of local/regional groups and individuals. Their presence at a protest is intended to intimidate and dissuade racists, but the use of violent measures by some antifa against their adversaries can create a vicious, self-defeating cycle of attacks, counter-attacks and blame. This is why most established civil rights organizations criticize antifa tactics as dangerous and counterproductive.
