With trump you are not engaging in a presidential debate, whatever the trappings, you are stepping to a tweaking sociopath in a public setting. The goal here isn’t to, engage with him, help him, defuse him, or anything like that. The goal is to destroy him socially in an indelible manner.

Wallace shook the mask, as politely as humanly possible.

Swan got him shaking so the mask sailed off a couple of times.

Biden should filibuster trump and yell bullshit. Trump will demand his due deference which opens the door for Biden to go all Fred Trump and dominate his ass breaking down why no deference is due. He can be aspirational and empathetic in his closing remarks.

After that, trump will dodge subsequent debates.

And fire more of his campaign staff.

I just keep how badly Hillary would rip into Trump, contradicting his BS and bludgeoning him with facts and figures and the real world death and disaster he unleashed.

Biden really needs to call Trump a Russian puppet again.  Use the exact words Clinton did.  Highlight how we knew this in 2016, even if it has since proven to be true, and dare Trump to come back with the same response.

Biden has his own "easy on China" problem

No he doesn’t.

VP race?

Karen Bass is a lunatic Fidel Castro acolyte, who praise Scientology and once belonged to an armed revolutionary group. She's out.

Stacey Abrams is so delusional she thinks she's the Governor of Georgia, and by the way, she's essentially unemployed. In one of her last regular jobs, she wrote bad porn novels -- for real.

Kamala Harris, meanwhile, is so transparently transactional that even Democratic primary voters who have a strong stomach found her repulsive. Pretty much no one who knows Kamala Harris likes her.

The odds have seemed to shift dramatically in another direction, away from Karen Bass and Kamala Harris and Stacey Abrams, and towards someone you have seen before. That would be former National Security Adviser, Susan Rice.

-------

Say what you will about Susan Rice and we're about to, but she is not a buffoon.

Susan Rice is smart. She is hard-eyed. She is experienced.

Susan Rice knows exactly what she wants and she understands the system well enough to get it.

She is a threat.

I think the delay is they are still looking for their Palin - their Game Change.

The delay is a media creation.

Obama announced Biden as his VP pick on 8/25/2008

I can only imagine that CV-19 has made it even more clear how important health insurance is.
Not to mention, how potentially catastrophic tying health care to employment can be.

UHC is inevitable.

That's because they haven't figured it out, yet.

Hillary Clinton for SoS.

Barack Obama for AG, until a SCOTUS seat becomes available... Then Cyrus Vance.

Okay, more seriously, I think they are afraid of anybody Biden would consider acceptable as SoS.

But for AG, I would go for either Preetinder Singh Bharara or Sally Yates, in a heartbeat. Cyrus Vance is going to be busy for a while in his current role and I would leave him right there until his Trump cases are concluded.

OMG, this is too freaking funny.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/04/politics/donald-trump-mail-in-voting-florida/index.html

In apparent reversal, Trump encourages Floridians to vote by mail

Quote
"Whether you call it Vote by Mail or Absentee Voting, in Florida the election system is Safe and Secure, Tried and True. Florida's Voting system has been cleaned up (we defeated Democrats attempts at change), so in Florida I encourage all to request a Ballot & Vote by Mail! #MAGA," he tweeted.

This is quite the exchange - Trump one to one with a reporter, discussing America's death rate and being confronted on the deaths as a percentage of population.

Yeah....

I recommend you see the entire episode - if you are a subscriber

I've now seen the entire interview.

What part of it do you think looked good for the president, Kid?

What would be lovely is if sometime early in the Biden presidency, perhaps just after the 100 day honeymoon, RBG announces that she is retiring and Biden nominates Obama.  It would be an extra bounce for Biden, put a 2nd black on SCOTUS, and symbolically compensate for the seat stolen from Obama.  It would also be a great move by RBG outlasting Trump.  Though to be honest Biden could find a more liberal justice than Obama.  O would be a great pick if the GOP controls the Senate, but if the Dems have the run of Gov't, I'd go further left.
