Bill Clinton speaks tonight.
It may turnout to be really embarrassing.

Almost every time Trump speaks it's embarrassing.  Haven't you noticed?
Bill Clinton otoh is intelligent, well-spoken, knowledgeable.

I think a selling point of the Democratic Party is that a vote for its candidate is a vote for a return to decency. I'm not sure having Bill Clinton speak furthers that selling point.

File under who do you think you're fooling...

Quote
President Trump is giving a “full and complete” pardon to famed suffragist Susan B. Anthony, who was arrested in 1872 for violating laws that permitted only men to vote.

In an appeal to women voters, Trump announced the pardon on the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment, which made universal suffrage the law of the land. He made the announcement in the Blue Room of the White House where supporters, some of them wearing sashes that read “Votes for Women,” stood behind him and first lady Melania Trump.

“She was never pardoned,” Trump said. “Did you know that she was never pardoned? What took so long?”
--- NPR
LOL!
Anthony is pardoned by Trump and in less than 8 hours she is cancelled by the Progressives.
Josh and Barton are scrounging for any statues of her they can pull down.
ROFL!

Her statues are fine, just make sure those fucking SB Anthony dollars that everyone thought was a fucking quarter, stay the fuck out of circulation.

If they're allowed to keep marching they'll get around to your house one day.

Cue "Destroyer" by the Kinks,  again.

"Forgiveness" is not for me to offer Bill Clinton. My viewpoint is from an electoral politics perspective.

Make America Normal Again
« Reply #47690 on: August 19, 2020, 10:49:12 AM »

I think the main point is a return to competency and functional government.
Clinton did a fine job presiding over an economic boom and even a fiscal surplus.
5 minutes of Bubba is a help not a harm.

Make America Normal Again has been my theme.

None of that "Let him who is without sin cast th first stone" for you, YG?
Not to mention forgiveness or any other Christian sentiments for Mr. Clinton.
Not that yankguy is unfamiliar with Christian sentiments, but you may want to check your phrasing here.

[edit]I am reminded of the probably apocryphal story of the British politician who advised the Jews and Palestinians to settle their differences "like good Christians".

Clinton's name is not on the ballot so your viewpoint is Clinton-free.
True, but having him speak at the convention sends a variety of messages. Not all of them are helpful.

And "forgiveness" is not an offer, it is a gift. Just so you know.
I suspect yannkguy's point is that he is not the one to offer relevant forgiveness to Clinton.

(CNN)Nearly 7 in 10 Americans say the US response to the coronavirus outbreak makes them feel embarrassed, according to a new CNN Poll conducted by SSRS, as 62% of the public says President Donald Trump could be doing more to fight the outbreak.

People could march thru my suburb, stand in my street outside my home and bang on about "white privilege", "gentrification", "our land", "give us your home" etc all they like but there's no way known to mankind I'd be giving it to them.
And I'll have a guess that no one else in this forum would either.

If they marched through your neighborhood, demanding your home?

Nah, I wouldn't give it to them. Not mine to give.

If they're allowed to keep marching they'll get around to your house one day.

From Australia? Seems unlikely. And I still wouldn't give them yours.

But, no, Bambi, you again fail to understand even remotely what is going on.

The folks who would march, wanting me to return the land to them, would be the indigenous people - and the ~4,000 folks who are members of the tribes that were anywhere near where I live won't be showing up here, wanting to live here. If they were to sue to reclaim this land, I sure hope they would win! But this government has shown little willingness until now to even remotely begin to respect the treaties we have signed with them.

BLM isn't coming here looking to have me relinquish my house because... try to understand this point, Bambi, it's important:
It wasn't taken from them in any way, shape, or manner.

After the school opening debacle, sure to come, even the Donald will run away in shame.
Reminds me a bit of LBJ and Vietnam with literally everyone against the war. This is going to be much worse. With innocents being needlessly put at risk.

A few colleges have already walked back plans because of infections. Check out Notre Dame and UNC.

keep rooting for that virus, Lu.
