UNO

If you can control yourself - as in not cursing me out - I will keep you off the iggy.  I championed your return to the boards - I think maybe a bit more respect is due.

Do you honestly think that he cares whether you put him on ignore or not?!

Also, I am pretty sure that you do not trigger compulsive cursing and that it is very much under control - he just thinks that you have earned it.

This is in contrast with his respect. He [/i]might[/i] respect your having "championed" his return, but you seem to be under the impression that if you do one nice thing, that should counterbalance years of deceit and obfuscation here, as well as meanspiritedness toward a substantial portion of this country and the world.

Either Trump was telling US Governors the same thing he was telling Woodward in February in which case they are all equally culpable for taking little to no actions, or Trump was keeping them in the dark about what the Federal Government knew about the COVID threat in addition to lying to the American public about it.

Yes.  Governors knew the flu was airborn and could be much deadlier than the common flu.  Trump didn't have information that only he could obtain.  He can be a magician, but not with having Trump-only info.

Democrats were bit - and continue to be this election - when they created soundbites driven by their hatred of this president.  When Trump zigged, they zagged - thus denying severity of the virus in public settings/speeches - at what turned out to be inappropriate times.

When Trump stopped the planes from Asia, what did Dems then need to do?

How about Europe?

CRITICIZE and hope for negative fallout they could then spin to advantage.

So did Pelosi, who knew just as much as Trump did.
So did Fauci who knew more that both Trump and Pelosi knew

Pelosi did not know just as much as Trump did, no matter how often you repeat the claim that she did.
Of course she did. Unless you think she is stupid.

No, I think YOU are stupid.

I think TRUMP is stupid.

I think Trump controlled the flow of information, as has been demonstrated several times over, including from Woodward's tapes. And if all the governors and Pelosi had the information that Trump had a bunch of governors would have behaved differently. And Pelosi would have, as well.

From KPCW:
Quote
As late as February 29, Surgeon General Jerome Adams was telling Americans on Twitter to stop buying masks, saying they are "NOT effective." But the guidance soon changed, and by early April the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention began recommending that Americans wear face coverings in public. Even then, however, President Trump said he would not be wearing a mask himself.

Had Trump pushed masks when the CDC did, lives would have been saved. Do you dispute that, Ward? Kid?

This is when Trump knew the coronavirus was airborne:
Quote
On Feb. 7, during a taped interview with Bob Woodward, President Trump acknowledged that the coronavirus could be transmitted through the air, that it was very dangerous and that it would be difficult to contain. “This is deadly stuff,” he told the investigative journalist.

“You just breathe the air, and that’s how it’s passed,” the president warned.

On February 19th, the Chinese admitted that the coronavirus could be spread through the air:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pshp3uZzHTw

Tell me how Pelosi was supposed to know or the governors were when the Chinese had not told anybody yet?

You keep saying the information was available to anybody, Ward. IT WAS NOT!

WTF do I waste my time with you? You cannot admit an error and you don't accept evidence.
Your entire post evaded Pelosi and her knowledge (as the Speaker of the House and privy to the most meaningful information) of the deadliness of the virus.
You are totally clueless to how our Government  works.

Bob Woodward had my quotes for many months. If he thought they were so bad or dangerous, why didn’t he immediately report them in an effort to save lives? Didn’t he have an obligation to do so? No, because he knew they were good and proper answers. Calm, no panic!

But FREE MICHIGAN!  Portland has burned down!  And the Suburban Lifestyle Dream is under threat by Black people moving to your neighborhood!

NO PANIC!

Good point.  Panic when it suits Trump is ok.  Calm when it suits him is good too.   As always, Trump is for Trump.  I don't know what anyone else gets out of it.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/09/10/us/demetria-bannister-teacher-coronavirus-death-trnd/index.html

In school physically on August 28th.

Diagnosed with COVID-19 on Sept. 4th.

Dead on Sept. 7th.

Kid and Ward never did tell us how many teachers' lives they were prepared to sacrifice on the altar of "schools must reopen."

She's black so they don't care.  Actually it suits them.

About this "the President caused thousands of deaths"

It is INSULTING to the dead themselves to say such a thing

You weren't killed by this horrible virus at all.  Your suffering is not in any way courageous - as one in number with your fellow US citizens hat got dealt a bad hand. You will not be remembered so.

Just like the distortion of Blake as a brave man, you COVID-19 afflicted who lost life are distorted as simple victims, not patriots whatsoever.

C’mon, son.

Biden wanted to confront the problem head on and Obama told him to back off to avoid panicking the nation.
Are you paying attention?

And you're claiming that Obama got lucky the virus wasn't deadlier.
1.  So doesn't that mean that Biden had the smarter more careful approach, even if it turned out not necessary (by sheer luck)?
2. Dealing with a virus honestly and actively doesn't equate to PANIC!
But rather being safe and careful, protecting lives.  Good government.
3. Biden's instincts on dealing with a highly transmissible and potentially deadly virus is to take precautions early and protect people.  Hurray.  Exactly what Trump failed to do with CV-19 with disastrous results for most Americans.
4. So as you've cited and proved, Biden would have handled the Virus much better than Trump.  With likely an early effective response.

Thanks for playing ...
You are truly permanently out to lunch.

Admit it.  You played yourself.  Everyone's getting a good laugh out of it too.

CRITICIZE and hope for negative fallout they could then spin to advantage.

We did not hate this president until he continuously failed to do his job, which has been the case from the start, despite your faux-denials.

We did not vow to make him a failed president, the way Mitch McConnell did. We have not obstructed at every turn, the way the GOP did for the second term of Obama.

You keep thinking we think like you do.

We don't. We are not motivated by the bullshit you are. And when we speak against racism it is not "political correctness." We actually care about people being hurt.

You might try it sometime!

(Probably, though, you won't.)

Your posts of this sort don't help the forum.

Yes.  Governors knew the flu was airborn and could be much deadlier than the common flu.  Trump didn't have information that only he could obtain.
No. He didn’t.
The US system of government prevents such idiocy. Its branches are co-equal.  Nancy Pelosi, third in line to the Presidency, was privy to the same info as Trump especially through daily briefings, the reports from the CDC, the WHO,news reports, etc.
Yet Pelosi, through her presence in Chinatown in late February, was playing down a serious threat.  So was Dr. Fauci. The 50 states all have health departments and all can make decisions without approval from Washington.  And by the first weekend of March many restrictions were underway that led to lockdowns.

1) Learn to use this message board. Your sloppiness misrepresents people worse than anything I have ever done here.

2) You accuse ME of being naive? When the president directs the intelligence agencies to stop delivering briefings on certain topics because it makes him look bad or it disagrees with his personal opinion, then no, nobody gets the info available to him. When he tells them to no longer give briefings to Congressional Intelligence Committees on election security, then no, they don't get the info.

But you, too, are a dishonest poster without a shred of compassion for those outside your circle, as you have so admirably demonstrated repeatedly.
I think you are losing it.  You don’t even know how our system of government works.
Trump publicly downplayed the serious of the virus to forestall panic. So did Pelosi, who knew just as much as Trump did.
So did Fauci who knew more that both Trump and Pelosi knew
Obama did the same thing over the Swine flu.

Pull!

No, it didn't. It asked you a question. You ducked the question.

Trump knew. He did not tell anybody else. Contrary to your claims it was not public knowledge.

Trump knew because XI told him, not our own intelligence services.

Pelosi learned it when China announced it, almost two weeks later.

And, as ever, you want to pretend Trump did everything right.

Masks. Masks. Masks.

Tills staff member penalized for saying out loud what the GOP position really is.

Senator apologizes for that rare moment of honesty, while still not doing anything to help the constituent.

Apologizing for how the message was delivered, not the message itself.  The Republican party is the party of unfettered capitalism.  As long as the rich get richer the machine is working properly.  People who vote for them should know that the Republicans in charge don't care about the voter.

Trump downplayed the virus to forestall panic, yet gets on Twitter on a daily basis to yell and scream about things like a foreign "caravans" coming to kill us all.
