This bicyclist is so threatening! Good thing the police officer got backup before giving the teen a ticket.
I've noticed that the police always seem to call for backup no matter how minor or unarmed
their victim the suspect is. And then you'd think that having more cops would lead to better behavior and more well-thought out strategy. But it seems it just emboldens aggressive behavior since they have numbers and greater impunity. Just like a gang.
The George Floyd killing was one example -- the call was a guy passed a counterfeit $20 and might be on drugs. How many police do you need to respond to that.
One somewhat disoriented feller sitting in his vehicle. There was one of these police brutality vids I saw a week or two ago -- there's so many, I forget which one -- and the small town police call for more backup, and the dispatcher replies that all available cars have been sent already. So three or four police cars went to some rather minor incident and the suspect wound up in bad shape (I'll try to recall which that was).
But there's something very troubling where more police = more danger, more violence, a greater chance of injury or death. I guess that's what was so shocking about the Rodney King video. So many cops were willing to be seen by many others bashing a prone victim, not worrying about legality or being reported by others.
