But Joe Biden who is also Catholic?

So there seem to be some benefits to having short expected life spans and half your population under 25...

One thing the article doesn't mention is the limited foreign travel.  That many African countries just aren't much plugged into the world economy.  So the virus didn't reach them until after much of Europe and Asia was shut down.

I am ticked off about the handling of the C-19 pandemic. Worst rate in the world slightly ahead of India.

Luee, there is a difference between rate and "total cases."

India is close to us un total cases, but their rate of cases is 1/5th of ours. And their rate of deaths is 1/9th of ours.

We are not the worst in the world in either of those issues - but we are in the worst 10 in the world for countries with more than a million citizens in both cases and deaths. Were it not for South America we would be in the "top" 5.

Either way unacceptable. We are not a developing nation. Just terrible leadership. Dont wear a mask at rallies, drink Lysol and bleach. Open schools because little ones are immune. A slight drop? Take away all restrictions and go on to the next stage. Get the big oaf outta here before he kills us all! Biden at least has some respect for science.

A Pennsylvania state appeals court has decided that the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act of 2005 is unconstitutional, court documents filed on Monday show.

The PLCAA is a federal law that prohibits civil lawsuits from being brought against gun manufacturers and distributors as a result of misuse of their products by others.

The law says businesses should not "be liable for the harm caused by those who criminally or unlawfully misuse firearm products or ammunition products that function as designed and intended."

But the PLCAA violates the 10th Amendment, Pennsylvania Superior Court Prothonotary Joseph D. Seletyn said, which guarantees states' rights -- essentially stating that matters which are not delegated to the federal government by the US Constitution and are not Constitutionally prohibited, fall under the authority of the state government.

"The only portions of the PLCAA that do not offend the Constitution are its findings and purposes ... and a few definitions," Seletyn wrote.

The 63-page decision also took issue with arguments that the law falls under Congress' power to regulate interstate commerce.

The judge wants to know why the Census is ending on October 5th when they have been ordered not to.

Isn't the judge paying attention? Almost nobody in this administration cares what the courts say or what the law is!

Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross announced Monday evening that he intends to conclude the 2020 census on October 5, more than three weeks earlier than expected after a federal judge reinstated the October 31 end date.

The announcement, in a social media post from the Census Bureau, said October 5 is the "target date" to end the acceptance of individual census responses and the nationwide effort to knock on the doors of households that have not responded.

The announcement came as Judge Lucy Koh, who last week had issued a preliminary injunction reinstating the October 31 date, began a conference in the case. The Trump administration has also appealed her order to a higher court.

Koh inquired about unverified claims submitted to the court that the Census Bureau has not properly carried out her orders.

PoP is ecumenical,  has many Protestant members,  and draws some from the Pentecostals.    So they do the tongue talking.   The focus shoukd really be on her current view of stare decisis,  and on her earlier statements on recusal of judges when their faith could impact a decision.
