It’s done and in the bag. Pence needs to get the cabinet to dump trump tomorrow. Section 8 for cadet bone spurs.

U.S. Is Blind to Contagious New Virus Variant, Scientists Warn
It’s not too late to curb the contagious variant’s spread in the U.S., experts say — but only with a national program for genetic sequencing.

https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/06/health/coronavirus-variant-tracking.html

Quote
About 1.4 million people test positive for the virus each week, but researchers are only doing genome sequencing — a method that can definitively spot the new variant — on fewer than 3,000 of those weekly samples. And that work is done by a patchwork of academic, state and commercial laboratories.

Important CV work Trump is neglecting.   Need to know where a highly transmissible strain is in order to take useful protective measures.  But especially critical if it turns out this or another variant isn't affected by the current vaccines.

Re: Trump Administration Gets Shot of Mace

Newly elected Republican Rep. Nancy Mace (S.C.) said Wednesday’s siege on the U.S. Capitol erased what she views as Trump’s accomplishments.

“Everything that he’s worked for … all of that, his entire legacy, was wiped out yesterday,” Mace told CNN on Thursday, four days after being sworn into office.

Mace said she sent her children home from D.C. on Monday after seeing concerning social media discussion of plans for the rally. She placed partial blame for Wednesday’s violence on Trump and some of her colleagues in Congress.

“When you speak like that, when you incite this kind of violence, rhetoric has real consequences,” Mace said.

Given that trump's legacy is mainly damage to foreign relations,  environment,  democratic norms and institutions, truth and transparency, and the moral standing of high office,  I'd say wiping out the legacy is an optimal outcome.   But I'm glad to see any congressperson develop a small crack in their delusion bubble.

More cogency than many of her fellow GOP freshmen showed last night.

I sure hope he was wearing his mask while with others in the Capitol Building.

US Rep. Jake LaTurner has tested positive for Covid-19, the Kansas Republican said in a tweet. He is not experiencing any symptoms.

LaTurner voted in person four hours ago on the House floor, per the clerk of the House of Representative's vote tally.

LaTurner is following the advice of the House physician and CDC guidelines and, therefore, does not plan to return to the House floor for votes until he is cleared to do so.

I think it is time for Rudy to turn in his legal license.

I think he is not up to protecting client confidentiality, among other problems.
