Two senior leaders of Fox News’ reporting division are exiting the network as the cable channel replaces some news programming with right-wing opinion shows and tries to lure back viewers who balked at its coverage of the 2020 election and its aftermath.

On Tuesday morning, Fox News fired Chris Stirewalt, the veteran politics editor who was an on-screen face of the network’s election night projection that Joe Biden had defeated President Donald Trump in Arizona, according to three people with knowledge of the matter.

Fox News was the first news outlet to call Arizona for Biden, a move that infuriated many of its regular viewers — including Trump, who denounced the network as insufficiently loyal and urged fans to watch Newsmax and One America News instead.

On Monday, Bill Sammon, Fox News’ longtime Washington bureau chief, told staff members that he would retire at the end of January. Three people with knowledge of internal discussions said that Sammon, who had editorial oversight of the network’s Decision Desk, had faced criticism from network executives over his handling of election coverage, despite the Arizona call ultimately being accurate.

Fox News declined to comment on the departures; Sammon’s retirement was previously reported by The Hill. In addition to their exits, roughly 20 Fox News digital journalists were laid off Tuesday. The network attributed the layoffs in a statement to a realignment of “business and reporting structure to meet the demands of this new era.”

I thought you were done talking about Trump.

Peace, pal

Gotta let you go now permanently, as your offerings continue to wither

Enjoy the day.

Perhaps we should all follow your lead, Kid, and put you on ignore.

Shall we move over to the Biden thread now?

Trump leaves office with DOW near 31k

Not only isn't the stock market not the economy, but the Top 1% wealthiest Americans own 40% of all stocks, while 85% of stocks are owned by the Top 10%.
So it's mostly a matter of the rich getting richer under a GOP president.  What a surprise.  Trump's Trillion $ tax cut resulted in lots of already cash-flush corporations buying back their stocks to pump up their stock prices for their already wealthy investors and executives.  With hardly a ripple in the real economy where the other 90% live.  The economy always does better under DEM presidents than under GOP.  The Clinton Boom was bigger than the Reagan Boom.
While big financial crashes and scandals always occur under GOP rule.

Fwiw,
Quote
From Trump's inauguration day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose from 19,827 to 30,930 on Tuesday, a 56 percent increase.

That increase is below the 73.2 percent rise the Dow saw in Obama's first term, or the 105.8 percent increase under Clinton's first term.

Trump leaves office with 31% approval.  Lowest ever recorded.
Wonder why?

51%

36% strong approve

Likely your 31 referred to that second number - polled by a different group.  And the overall is much higher

Your lies continue to be vapid and worthless.

Even when you are just using somebody else's.

Trump's approval ROSE each year he was in office.  Starting at the point where he was never accepted by so many as being the true winner - rising as he did to the 43% average for 2020 - and amidst a pandemic, amidst impeachment and everything but the kitchen sink thrown at him..........

Excellent president.

Speech lacking, bad haircut

Biden presidency begins.

Shut up. Get a haircut. Renounce your treasonous trump support.

Rejoice that this country has a legitimate, elected, sane, and popular President for the first time in four years now that Joe is sworn in.

So you don't plan on doing what Biden just urged you to do? How does insulting kid lead him to think that he should take your views seriously?

You remind me, Ham, of one of my favorite images:

Posted on a wall is a sign that says "Post no signs."

Taped next to it is a piece of paper that says "Except this one," with an arrow pointing to the other sign.

A couple days later, next to it appeared another, "And that one," pointing to the first piece of paper."

Amanda Gorman kicked ass.
Hell, I'd vote for her hairstyle and/or clothes for president.

Sure a lot of stairs at the Capitol for plenty of old folks to handle.
Great to have a woman of color as Veep.
Small steps.

Harris gets to swear in 3 new democratic senators today.
In the Senate, they'll be 50 Democrats and 50 Republicans.  Hopefully some day soon we'll see 50 female senators.

Lastly, good that Pence showed up.  And good that McConnell declared that Trump provoked the attack on the Congress.  Though they enabled and assisted Trump for 4 years.

Kid was complaining about his speech and his haircut. Rather than letting him be paralyzed by frustrated entitlement, I’m pointing out that these personal problems of his can be easily addressed on his own initiative.

It would be great if Kid could heal and if we could eventually forgive him, but it’s got to be built on a basis of truth and an honest commitment to change on his part.

There is room in this country for the repentant sinner. We still need to lock up, deplatform, and dispossess the unrepentant ones before they strike again.

Only 49 Democrats in the Senate

You'll be right on the days when Kamala is presiding.

But actually there will be 48 Democratic senators and 2 Independents: Sanders and Angus King of Maine.  Both caucus with the Democrats.  So the Democratic caucus has 50 senators.
