Hillary thew a cool $ 1 billion or so, (much of it donations to Clinton Foundation to help children)
You are a liar Red. And that is a bald faced, bold faced lie. There is no evidence of any financial intermingling between the CF and Hillary's campaign.  That is a lie, pure and simple.
Donations to the Foundation are now at a trickle. Quid without quo, you know, will do that.

A trickle!

Why can't you pay hush money to porn stars, waitresses, male flower sellers on the street, or anyone else?
'Consenting adults'...unless there's extortion involved?

...if you use your own money.

Did Trump use his own money?
Trump likely could have gotten away with paying the hush money by reporting it.  Which defeats the purpose of hush money.  He probably shouldn't have cheated on his wife.
The only candidate ever charged with campaign finance violations over hush money was John Edwards and the trial ended in acquittal and was roundly criticized by the media as a waste of time. The furor over Trump has no legal basis but is purely political.
Of course both the Enquirer and Cohen have admitted the two things the government could not prove.against Edwards: that the hush money was paid for political purposes and that Trump was.aware of and directed the activity specifically for political purposes. But don't let the idea that individual cases stand or fall on their own facts trouble you.

The legal basis of the Edwards charges: that Hush money paid for campaign purposes is subject to campaign finance regulations - was not the reason the government must. Case went to trial, and to a jury, which deadlocked on all but one claim. It was the facts that resulted in Edwards's acquittal,  or the idea that hush money paid in connection to a campaign was not a campaign contribution.
LOL

Case went to a jury, genius. Do you understand what.that means?

An acquittal on the facts does not mean campaign linked hush payments are not illegal.any more than being acquitted of bank robbery means bank robbery is not illegal
LOL.

Trump is a womanizer. Have at it. But there is no campaign finance law violation for paying hush money to porn stars.

No, just for overlarge unreported finance contributions and the conspiracy to conduct such a contribution, even when the form of contribution is hush money to a porn star or silencing the individual by buying the rights to the story and then not running it.

Your bullshit knows few bounds.

Might want to look in the mirror. You hate Trump. Many do. But there is no there there on campaign finance violations. Sorry the RUSSIA! Investigation has not produced anything for you.
But it is what it is.

The Russia Investigation has exposed the NRA as nothing more than a treasonous front group, the trump campaign as a malignant crime sponge, and every republican donor as a hood and a slimeball.

We’re in the warm up to the overture. You crescendoed early again Red. It’s probably why you, like your idol Individual 1, have to pay for it.

But there is no there there on campaign finance violations.

The President's own lawyer disagrees.

Sorry the RUSSIA! Investigation has not produced anything for you.
But it is what it is.

The Russia Investigation has produced plenty, including indictments and guilty pleas of numerous officials directly tied to Trump and his campaign.
The Russia Investigation has not produced anything directly implicating Trump yet.

But surely it is not beyond even your abilities to comprehend that we will not know what that investigation has produced until it is complete?

https://www.pri.org/stories/2018-12-12/judge-halts-keystone-xl-pipeline-citing-complete-disregard-climate

As noted in the story, the judge is known as a moderate, rather than a pro-environmental, voice.

The XL has been ill conceived from the start.   This is good news for the country,  the Ogallala Aquifer,  Native tribes and their sacred lands,  the boreal forests of Alberta,  and even Keystone,  who can maybe start to move away from a 40 year financing sinkhole and towards natural gas and other energy sources.   Liquid bitumen from tar sands is the worst and most toxic form of fossil fuel.

ACLU

Hi Tony –

A seven-year-old girl, who had been picked up by Border Patrol with her father, has just died in U.S. government custody. She was dehydrated and in shock.

I'm disgusted. I'm heartbroken. How could this happen?

What we know is that the Trump administration's Department of Homeland Security has been terrorizing and abusing immigrants with impunity for far too long. From firing tear gas at toddlers to tearing children out of their parents' arms to putting children in jail cells and tent cities, DHS has violated basic human rights – and American values – over and over.

It's time to hold DHS accountable for its long history of abuse. Here's what we can do together right now: Stop Congress from giving DHS increased funding to fuel its abuses.

I promise you that we're going to fight Trump's war on immigrants and our American values with everything we've got. We've been in this struggle since day one of the Trump administration – and we're not letting up an inch in 2019.

Before the year closes, Congress will have to decide whether to reward DHS for its behavior and give the agency a raise. We can't let that happen – send your message to your representatives now.

En la lucha,

Lorella Praeli

Lorella Praeli
ACLU Director of Immigration Policy and Campaigns

-----

This is not who we are.

The USA is for everyone, and they are welcomed by our Statue of Liberty.

On the issue of the caravans from the south...

The best idea is to build more legal processing centers, and more legal border crossings, etc. And there could be tent cities built to help the people. The unions in the USA can help, the unions can tell the workers where the job are. There are jobs working in the vineyards and in the fields, and there are construction jobs in the areas hit by hurricanes and fires, etc. The unions know where the jobs are. And also the universities can be there to help the people who want to study in the USA, etc. The hospitals can be there to hire nurses. Etc, etc, etc. There can be new tent cities built, and the people can be sent to where they are needed, etc.

And we can have a giant WOODSTOCK concert on our southern border to raise money for lawyers, and for the tent cities to act as processing centers, and for whatever else.

We need sane immigration policies, we need to have a GOOD NEIGHBOR policy for our good Christian neighbors, we need to allow them to live in the USA, and they can go to school here, and they can work here, and we need to make it easy for them to become citizens, etc, etc, etc.

Salute,

Tony V.

Your anger/disgust is misplaced in this case

Sure there is. He made the payoffs to make sure disclosure of him being the slimy bastard he is did not come out in the end stages of the campaign. The booty calls took place over a decade before so why the urgency to pay hush money... in the end stages of the campaign?
