A Republican lied to win election.  IOW, its a Monday.

They publicly accused the Democratic Party of Georgia of trying to hack into the voter database in a failed attempt to steal the election. The announcement added last-minute drama to an already contentious campaign. More important, it also pre-empted scrutiny of the secretary of state’s own missteps while initiating a highly unusual criminal investigation into his political rivals.

But no evidence supported the allegations against the Democrats at the time, and none has emerged in the six weeks since, the Journal-Constitution found. It appears unlikely that any crime occurred.

Fake news.
Obscuring the fact that Stacy Abrams is an embarrassment to democracy.

You seem unaware of what the term “Fake News” means.

That the records of 7.5 million voters were left unsecured months after the vulnerability was identified is fact.
That Kemp’s response to that was to blame Democrats of hacking the voter rolls is fact.
That Kemp did so without any evidence is fact, unless that evidence should now emerge.
That Kemp would not go two months without furnishing said evidence if he had it in his possession is as good as fact.

If you can prove any of these facts are “fake” post the proof.  Otherwise, you are just trolling.
LOL
The whole “ story” is based on someone named Richard Wright who no one has even spoken to.

Red's the best. Never a word about the 3-5 million illegal immigrant votes claimed by the soon- to-be impeached head of his favorite political party. Never a word about the taxpayer-funded commission to "investigate" such claims, but this Georgia thing cuts him to the quick.

I'm reading Noam Chomsky
Good luck.

His prose is not always what ya call transparent.  He's got a more recent one, exact title don't know, something like Global Democracy Under Threat.

REGARDING REDWARDIO:

Y'all know that it's not about evidence with him, right?  He's just a reactionary, spewing.  Pointless to ask for evidence.  Or to put it Noam Chomskyese:  There is the usual vast and interlocking hegemonic structure from which flows a single thread of propaganda which essentially is that the corporate system bows to the will of the actual population and only fosters the candidates which will best serve the wealth of the people in aggregate meanwhile accruing financial control and all real decision trees within the higher strata of 0.034 percent of the wealthy.  (he didn't really say that, but I feel like that's close....)

LOL.  That the data was vulnerable is not in question, and the issue was/is being investigated by the FBI.

Kemp’s wild accusation against the Democratic Party was called out as unsupported when it happened.  Almost two months later, no evidence has emerged to support Kemp opening an investigation into his political rivals.  He lied, and the investigation was an abuse of power.

I'd say Kemp engaged in a witch hunt, but....

https://www.thedailybeast.com/witches-to-trump-stop-calling-the-mueller-investigation-a-witch-hunt

Quote
Witches view the use of the phrase as more than just a pejorative rhetorical device. They place it, rather, in the larger context of the president demonizing and marginalizing minority groups. According to witches who spoke to The Daily Beast, most contemporary witches are feminists and support other marginalized groups. Salisbury called Trump’s witch hunt tweets “disgraceful,” especially because of Trump’s attacks on immigrants and women.

“It is particularly horrifying because many modern practitioners of witchcraft devote their lives to seeking compassion and justice,” Salisbury said.

The White House did not respond to a request for comment.

Faced with a barrage of “witch hunt” slurs, some witches have chosen to raise the stakes, resorting to spell-casting. A group of witches organized on the internet casts a monthly “binding” spell on Trump, while another group attempted to hex Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

But Trump doesn’t need to be worried about a plague of toads showing up at the White House any time soon. Randall said most witches have opted not to use magic against Trump.

“I don’t think we need to attack Trump with spells,” Randall said. “He’s in the middle of a process of self-destruction.”

“Trump is safe from any ‘witch hunt’ because no self-respecting coven would have him,” Randall added.

Heh.

Red is always embarrassed when confronted with women stronger and smarter than he is. Stacy, Nancy, Liz, AOC. Red is haunted by his very real inferiority. He’s almost terrified enough to become a GOP candidate himself.

I know why Red’s panties are afire.

It’s not just a White House problem anymore. Every creepy republican who ran in 2016 or 2018 and every corrupt state republican organization is also under suspicion and probably being investigated.

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/17/us/politics/russia-2016-influence-campaign.amp.html

The Russian influence campaign on social media in the 2016 election made an extraordinary effort to target African-Americans, used an array of tactics to try to suppress turnout among Democratic voters and unleashed a blizzard of activity on Instagram that rivaled or exceeded its posts on Facebook, according to a report produced for the Senate Intelligence Committee.

The report adds new details to the portrait that has emerged over the last two years of the energy and imagination of the Russian effort to sway American opinion and divide the country, which the authors said continues to this day.

“Active and ongoing interference operations remain on several platforms,” says the report, produced by New Knowledge, a cybersecurity company based in Austin, Texas, along with researchers at Columbia University and Canfield Research LLC. One continuing Russian campaign, for instance, seeks to influence opinion on Syria by promoting Bashar al-Assad, the Syrian president and a Russian ally in the brutal conflict there.

The New Knowledge report, which was obtained by The New York Times in advance of its scheduled release on Monday, is one of two commissioned by the Senate committee on a bipartisan basis. They are based largely on data about the Russian operations provided to the Senate by Facebook, Twitter and the other companies whose platforms were used.

[Read the New Knowledge report here.]

The second report was written by the Computational Propaganda Project at Oxford University along with Graphika, a company that specializes in analyzing social media. The Washington Post first reported on the Oxford report on Sunday.

[Read the Oxford report here.]

The Russian influence campaign in 2016 was run by a St. Petersburg company called the Internet Research Agency, owned by a businessman, Yevgeny V. Prigozhin, who is a close ally of President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia. Mr. Prigozhin and a dozen of the company’s employees were indicted last February as part of the investigation of Russian interference by Robert S. Mueller III, the special counsel.

Both reports stress that the Internet Research Agency created social media accounts under fake names on virtually every available platform. A major goal was to support Donald Trump, first against his Republican rivals in the presidential race, then in the general election, and as president since his inauguration.

Hmm..
