Congratulations. Your line of argument excuses every act of terrorism ever undertaken by anyone, everywhere.
No it doesn't.
But, today is today.
Today.
Today western govts are far from getting it right.
I've been watching war movies, war docos all week.
The horror that happened in PNG WW2 when Japan invaded, included.
At the end of the Kokoda Track campaign, [initially young men under 21 press-ganged off the streets of Syd and Melb [we were never told about that] and sent to fight the Japanese...they allegedly being 'expendable'], the Aussies had the remaining Japanese 'surrounded' on the beaches of Port Moresby.
All they had to do was 'sit' on them and wait for them to starve to death or come out of the jungle.
But oh no, couldn't do that...Macarthur demanded the Aussies charge them and end it all.
Aussies got slaughtered, only a few survived. [we were never told that either].
Baaah, Macarthur was no IKE.
So much hatred of Japanese then and afterwards downunder.
One elderly veteran interviewed said that in recent times [probably about 10 years ago] he saw a lot of Japanese schoolgirls get out of a bus.
He said "They looked so nice, well dressed, shiny hair, laughing and happy, and I thought to myself, 'They didn't do it,' and after that my attitude softened".
