A few weeks into Trump's "Presidency" I posted here how important it is that we not let his behavior and attitude toward the office be normalized.  That for the good of the country's future we need to at every turn call out how crazy and unacceptable and unqualified Trump is.

This piece is absolutely right.  The past few weeks have shown how we, the media specifically, have failed spectacularly at this task:

https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2019/4/16/1850699/-A-chilling-reality-media-s-not-equipped-to-deal-with-Trump-s-ramped-up-war-on-democracy

There is no telling how much damage this is doing.  Forget how much worse the next two years (or six) can get, Trump doing this and getting away with it makes it 100% more likely that we will face the possibility of another authoritarian President in the near future.  And what if he/she takes it to another level?  What kind of Democracy are we left with?
David Boehlert authored the cited article. He writes for Shareblue the web site run by the infamous David Brock.  Shareblue went to the wall attacking Bernie Sanders in 2016 earning itself the moniker of “ the pond scum of American Politics”.
FWIW.

Not worth much, unless you can point to something in the article that is untrue or misrepresented.
The first paragraph was pure hysterical fiction.

Would be true if not for the fact that every one of the events described in that first paragraph actually happened.

Achtung, y’all!

Rome.

From Republic to Empire.

But, let us retain our Constitutional Republic.

Trump is really putting our checks and balances to the test, but our Democracy will stand.

We must stand up for what we believe to be the right thing to do, and we must stand up for what America stands for, and our country of the people, by the people, for the people, must never vanish from the earth. When the founding fathers laid the foundation for our nation, they knew that the people must be the guiding force of our nation, and the people must be willing to fight if need be, and we even have the right to bear arms if it comes down to combat against a tyrannical regime. Our Constitution is great, and our Bill of Rights is awesome, and the USA will always be free as long as the American people care enough to fight for what America stands for.

The USA will not be brought down by Trump, nor by any other man.

And I personally believe that it is important to support groups which stand up for our rights, such as the ACLU, and the NRA.

Salute,

Tony V.

https://www.cnn.com/2019/04/15/politics/bernhardt-interior-ig-investigation/index.html

It took a mere four days for the new Interior Dept. sec'y to be under investigation.

Is that a record even for this administration?!

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/trump-vetoes-measure-end-u-s-involvement-yemen-war-n995281?cid=sm_npd_ms_fb_ma

President Trump does not understand our Constitution or its limits on him.

Still not news.

Quote
In a break with the president, Congress voted for the first time earlier this month to invoke the War Powers Resolution to try to stop U.S. involvement in a foreign conflict.

The veto — the second in Trump's presidency — had been expected. Congress lacks the votes to override him.

"This resolution is an unnecessary, dangerous attempt to weaken my constitutional authorities, endangering the lives of American citizens and brave service members, both today and in the future," Trump wrote in explaining his veto.

Such bullshit.

Trump wouldn't recognize his "constitutional authority" if he bagged it in bed!

"It's not about prosecutable collusion.  It's about did Trump do ANYTHING wrong.  White House took a bad line here - by refuting everything - such that if ANYTHING at all is there, they lose"

Interesting.  We want our presidents lily white.  Hear that, Kennedy fans?

That a President needs to be "lily white" is what you got from the quote from Toobin?

Maybe you should stick to the deep, thoughtful analysis found at Twitter.

Quickly went from "throw the book at him" to "not prosecutable but surely there are ethics violations"

Only a little collusion isn’t a crime. That’s what you are going with?

Good luck.
